Cage is almost done, still need to cut out the rear seats and install the new rear suspension crossmember and tie the cage in to that piece.

The cage tubing is larger than needed for PCA but seeing as the goal of the car is high speed I wanted it to be super stout in the event the worst happens.

The bar running under the dash is getting moved up to be level with the horizontal door bars to allow more clearence for the feet.

Coming up on the list is the side exit exhaust tunnel then moving onto cutting the firewall off and tubing out the front of the car. Now we can start retrofitting the dash as well.

The cage design is from a 968 TRS.

Unbelievable. The one guy that will surely pass me on the money spent on his car. Gabe, have any estimate on what that might be? Looks spectacular!

Looks good. Are you building the cage to any series spec - SCCA, NASA, PCA, etc. If so you might want to check the specs on the main hoop. Most governing bodies won't accept anything more than a 180 deg total bend.

The cage wasn't built for any series however we used tubing that was on the larger side of the recommended specs due to the nature of use for the car.

I didn't see in the PCA book where it limited the bending of the pipe, so will I not be allowed to do a DE with the hoop in it current configuration?

DE will be fine- maybe if you get into club racing or something then you would have to worry about regs.

This is the mother of all 951 projects thats ever been on this board no doubt.

Would be interesting to see how its coming along. No one has tried a undertaking like guns has. I just spent the better part of 2 hrs going through and just rereading this old thread. WOW.

Post up a update when you have one guns. Sucks im not in texas anymore to even see the car when its completed. The car will be flipping amazing.
