his rear wheel wells appear to go strait out i imagine the rusty panel will be above the centre of the rear wheel and the big lemans guards will go over top

The rear fenders were cut out to provide clearance for the larger diameter wheels/tires and dropping the chassis by a couple of inches.

We're keeping as much of the stock body panel to provide rigidity as we want light weight but the chassis will want to twist with the amount of torque gonig through it.

The fiberglass flare will be glued to the body and shaped to follow the contour, this will give us a smooth inner fender well for better air flow over the rear tires and out the rear.

Patrick, I actually have no clue - but its on my "ask list" for the shop. I still need pics of the completed rear as this was before they finished it out.

HEhehah not sure just how much room those 455's are going to need, but I'd imagine ****loads is a fair guess! That indentation sure seems like it could make an incursion into that room needed, but I could just be seeing it wrong. As Gabe mentions, the rear wheel arches have been cut out so maybe that is way inboard of where the tyre is going anyway?
Gabe, is there going to be an original bolt left on your beast?

Yes actually, the roof...but that's it. And the tires we're using are 29" tall.

Well after the cage is in, then we get to do the side exit exhaust & front frame and bodywork support to get the fiberglass on. At that point we can get the rear quarters on and she'll start looking like a GTR.

This is an incredible project. Being able to follow progress is on a build such as this is one of the reasons we all frequent Rennlist. Thanks!

Sorry if I missed it in an earlier post, but do you have a specific plan for the Gulf livery? I've seen this car before & it looks amazing in the gulf blue & orange - are you planning something similar?
