They are directional, but they look so sweet at night. I suppose an LED bulb that has led's on the back of the bulb as well as the front would help to light up the entire consul. Line the backing with foil of some sort?

Anyways I just wanted some LED's w/out paying an arm and a leg. Autozone sells the bulbs as a pair for $16.99 in case anybody was interested.

I just dont like the way the plug in LED "bulbs" look. Very ebay IMO. Just personal preferance, the only way I'd do LED's is if it was custom built for the housing like e46 M3's.

The near instant on/off of LEDs looks great. As with others here I'm not a big fan of the light being directed in just one direction. Even the board with an array look funny to me. The only vehicle I've seen with the LEDs done correctly are the Cadilac DeVille's (I forget what years). It's entire lit surface is uniform, looks awsome.
Highboost:
Your car looks fine the way it is. But....if you wanted to spread the light out a little, I've had some luck with scuffing the outside of the LEDs with some 400 grit sand paper. The scuffed surface acts like a lamp shade and spreads the light out a little. I did this to the gauge cluster in my truck and it did a better job of throwing light to the sides.
...We're harsh on this board.
