Hey guys, I got the LR MAF stage 1 for christmas and was wondering if it can be used in place of the stock air box w/o needing any new parts or modification (other then installation). I got the Stage 1 because im doing a GT30R swap and the 26/6 tubing may have been useless.

If i cant put it on now then that just gives me a reason to get the gt30r sooner.
I have Powerchips chips (dont know if that matters).

It should bolt right up, as the MAF should come with any adapters or piping needed.

It is the stage 1 so its only the filter and Maf. Does not include anything else.



So other then tubing/adapters, the MAF hould just replace the original airbox/afm w/o any other changes right?

You should need either chips mapped for it or a piggyback type system to regulate fuel.

Looks like you're lacking the tubing to mate it with the turbo unless it somehow uses the stock stuff.

ok thats what i was looking for. Guess i will have to wait to put it on until i have the turbo and other stuff on.

I didnt want to buy the stage 2 because then i would be paying an extra $300 for a tube/adapters that i may not be able to use with the gt30r.

Do you need a chip for the MAF if you are running a SMT-6?

you reuse the stock J boot.

You should also purchase the lindsey chips that are mapped the their MAF.

Or get a Chip from Hally. His chips have worked great for me, and easier on the wallet.

Well, without the tubing/pipes, you can mount the MAF in the stock AFM location.

If you want to run it behind the headlight like many do, you will need some adapters/tubing.

I have mine right where the stock AFM was and no issues.

I dont want to buy the LR chips because i will be doing turbo, injectors, etc... and dont want to buy another chip when the mods are done.

Maybe its time to buy russels maxtronic?
