Paul, Your car is looking awesome. Great job bringing LIL back in shape. The black contrast makes it look aggressive.

My vote is to paint the mirrors to match and add some 968 door handles, also to match the car. Leave the wheels black. Since my car is the same color, I'm a little closer to your car now!

Paul, the car looks sharp with the new mirrors on it. Personally, I would paint them to match the rest of LiL. And if you don't track the car, do you think you will have a chance to dyno her?

Paul I like the black theme, but they would also look great matched to the body colour. Those mirrors are a really nice upgrade for our car cosmetically IMHO.
What's this about having to fix the OPS and W/B? Are you driving the car still? What sort of psi have you been pushing?

It strongly appears so. My 87 is the same color, though the sticker says "OCEANIC" blue. The same code is listed as "Nautic" blue, in 87', and then there is "Baltic" blue. They are all named after water and my research shows that they are al the same color. It makes no sense, but that's what I've been able to discover, over the last couple of months.

That's why I jumped on this one. We got very few. Hell I don't think they made very many. I've seen lists, and this color is always low on the pole.
The pic I posted isn't as accurate. My car looks identical to "LiL", in the same light.

Yes the car gets driven every couple of days and I've put on 1500 miles in the past two months. The W/B and OPS have obviously been affected by the whack and are next on the list to get fixed.

Jon M did some work on the timing and richened up my fuelling just a tad so that I don't have a recurrance of melting the plug on cyl#4 when I am next on track. She dyno'd at 350HP and 420ftlb after the changes and is definatley a bit nippier as she has started to slip the clutch between 3500rpm and 4500rpm if I run at 18psi. For that reason I am running at 15psi for the time being until we change out the cup clutch for one that can handle more torque

It's alwys difficult from photographs but I am pretty sure we are diffent colours.

We had Nautic blue (aka Ocean) over here in 1987 as well and it is coded as LY5Z

Mine is Baltic blue (aka Dove) from 1989 and is coded as LM5P.

I've seen both colours side by side and mine has a lot more silver fleck in the mix

Did you sort this one ?
I would be interested to know how & where said valve is fitted.

Looks nice Paul, keep pushing through all those little jobs. Hopefully we will get a chance to do some comparative testing soon!

BTW personally I would paint the mirrors blue.

Yes, Simon from SPS made it and it was fitted to the turbo oil supply before it's return. I'd been experiencing a small amount of oil smoke on the overrun and at idle and the reduction in pressure to the turbo has cured it. The Garret spec was 2bar for this particular model

You mean the restriction valve was fitted to the line featuring a partly braided hose, sourcing oil from the upper balance shaft cover ?
