"smoking clutch" is a little bit of an understatement. my nasal passages have not quite cleared yet.

Turbonetics 60-1 hifi, to4e housing .60 a/r, big shaft, ballbearing, .50a/r. t4 hot side, stage turbine 5 wheel. Purchased through SFR.

15 psi at 3000rpm
7psi imediate tip in from 2500rpm.
peak torque seems to be around 4200rpm
keeps pulling harder and harder all the way to 7000rpm.
most likely 360-400whp on pump gas.
I have not finished tuning it or dynoed yet and that most likely won't happen befor spring.

I could not be happier with the performance of this turbo. If you don't want to go with turbonetics and ball bearing or the t4 hot side I would sugest a LindseyRacing super61, to4e, stage 5 with a #10 hot side. This would be very similar and cost much less and bolt right in. Other than to get ball bearing I can not think of any other turbo to get for any reason at these power levels.

Here is the calculation to do it L x RPM X VE X PR
________________
5660
L= engine capacity in liters
Rpm=Maximum engine speed
Ve=engine volumetric efficiency
Stock 2 valve-85%
Stock 4 valve=90%

(pr=14.7+11.4
________ =1.78 cfm 2x7200rpmx93x1.78
14.7 _________________-
5660
=421.2 (29.5lb/min

To get lb from cfm x0.07

A better way of doing it not 100% but it helps.

So my equation would look like this?:
2.8X6500X0.90X421.2 = 6,899,256

Andial I have an in car video of a 2.8L with a Super 75 if you'd like to see it. Personally I think spool is alittle slow, but that's me.

Sure I wouldnt mind taking a look at it. A few people have recommended the Super75 to me but I think this was before they understood that I wanted quicker spool up for a street car and wasnt looking for record breaking numbers............im beginning to think the Super61 would be better for my application.

Take 14.7 plus the boost you want to run lets say 11.4 add those two=then divide by 14.7=1.78


take your 2.8x 6500rpm x90ve x1.78= then divide by 5660=cfm that the motor will use under boost

To convert from cfm just x0.07 by cfm you get.


2.8X6500X0.90X1.78 don't forget to divide by 5660 =515. cfm 36lbmin thats what the engine will flow under boost.
Find a turbo that fits that cfm in the compressor chart at garretts web site.

It's not 100% but it gives you an idea were your at any smaller flow and you know that's not right.
