The casting number on the head is different from the part number. Head pics prior to new springs and exhaust valves.

Boost Feen,

I have run a formula ford at Laguna but not the 951. It is ready to go now with the 2.5, so hopefully next year schedule allowing I will see you out there if not some other venue. What I need is an aluminum trailer. I have a S2 bottom end and the 2.7 head for the 3 liter build which is slowly picking up steam, no puns allowed. The oval intake ports measure 40mm x 50mm so some porting of the intake is in order.

Ask John V, he had one for sale not so long ago and will know the added advantages of them.

Aren't they meant to flow better than the stock 2.5's?

What a good timing for this. I have some data I can share, all based on personally flowing the heads.
The 2.7L in stock form, flows nicely for a 8V head.. Do a bit of massaging and it flows even better. It flows better than the 951 head.
The 2.7L head works on the 3L block (MY89 944 NA, S2, 968), the water jacket is in the correct place for this block. The 2.7L head, requires modifications for the 2.5L head, the water jacket in the front is in the incorrect place.
Few things to watch out for when using this head on a turbo application:
- Intake ports are oval not round. 951 ports are round.. Notice picture!
- Exhaust valves & all springs should be replaced for something suited for the application.

If you have a 2.5L based block and need a better flowing head, we can supply you with the SledgeHammer head based on the 951 or 944NA heads...
Sean, email me off-line, I might have something for you.
