THanks guys, Jeff, you and me both. Unfortunately this isnt my priority right now, which is why I'm sending it out to have the chassis work done so I can concentrate on getting my 5 series back together with the 400+whp LS1 setup.

It'll be interesting to see how the (turbo) 951 and the 525 compare once they're both complete.. The engine you're building for '08 will surely be above 400 whp, no? And while it (the p-car) won't have the powerband of the E34, it'll be a helluva lot lighter.

The e34 will be demolished by the new turbo engine. Not even a competition. I've already destroyed cars with 400whp on the highway.

Daily driver vs race car

One heck of a daily driver.. I guess the V8 fits in the 5-series a little better than in a 944

Why are you wasting an LS1 on a 5 series? Why wouldn't you want to put it into something more worth while and lighter? Any reason?

THANKS DUKE!!!
Who's the little asian guy engraved on the top of your pistons? lol Also is that some bigass crack around your hubs in the other photo?
Also I tried to see some details on the i.t.b.'s but I couldn't. Can you post some info on these if that's ok?
Thanks
Patrick

Maybe he really likes E34s, or just wants to do it for the project. There is something to be said for a big comfortable car you can cruise on the highway with, and you can't exactly put alot of **** in a 944.

LS1 is pretty light anyways, given its power. Its aluminum block no?

The Hubs arent cracked, you're seeing a crack in the plastic in one of the two brake cooling ducts. Sorry, I know you cant see **** on the ITB's but it's a cell phone photo. I'll have more photos at another time. Trust me, I didnt really want to shoot it with my cell, but I dont even have my point and shoot right now.

Waste It's not like they are rare.

For one, I love my 5 series, it's a great daily driver. Besides, it'll seat 5, it's lighter than the e39 and e60 (cheaper to fix too), and the LS1 is lighter than the M20B25, M30B35, or S38B36 (all of which I have sitting around), and makes more power. Point me to a downside? This will probably be the car I take on AKA Rally this summer, and if not I'll be taking my friend's e36 M3.
