Default leaking water in the rear

No, I'm not talking about wet farts. I have water leaking into my hatch area through somewhere but I don't know where.

Are there some common spots for water to get into the hatch area? It is too cold to get the hose out and do a flood test. I end up with water in the spare tire well and in both rear cubbies. I want to fix this soon. My factory tool kit is all rusty now

Common spots would be the

the hatch seal
the lock recess, it should have a drain tube attached,

also, i have just found that the seal around the back lights has started to let some water in. Trouble is I dont know what to use to re-seal them

Some other potential areas are the little drain tube grommet by the gas cap. The rear side-marker light gasket.

in the compartment that holds the tool kit there is a plastic plug. I was driving in the rain and noticed it was leaking in the garage, opened up the hatch and had a lake back there. I dropped the plug and it all ran out.

Sometimes its hard to see because of the undercoat, but its there.

Ross255, you want to re-seal them with 3M round butyl tape. Go to www.3m.com and search for butyl tape. Try auto glass repair shops as it's used to seal windshields etc.

Billthe3, that's the stuff. Worked great on my tail lights and was low cost.
