Tom. Do I assume that this is no longer an issue at all, and you are "the man" who has addressed and fixed the problem now? I am curious, and yes, I did read your last few posts, just wanted to make sure for when I'm ready to venture off into the #044 zone again! I want like zero tapping and/or clunking noise. It sounds like you did it, still gone? Don't hear it at idle at all?

Cheers pal,

I guess I should chime in as mine is done. I hear it hum (almost a wine), but no clunking. I have the LR fuel rail that does clunk softly like everyone elses, but the exaust is so damm loud, I had to strain to notice either. 4"LR Borla XR-1 and WG dump.

Well... I have to say, a muted knocking comes back every now and then -- nothing like before, but enough to notice. 90% of the time there is no sound, but every now and then it tries to knock, usually after just starting the car. So, I am continuing to work on this. I have always wanted to try Dynamat in the car to reduce road noise in general and am in the process of lining the interior with it now. I have lined the read hatch area, which has reduced the overall road noise a bit. When I next get the chance, I'm planning to line the floor boards under the seat and the doors-- doubling up on the passenger side and under the rear seat where the fuel lines generate the most noise. Also going to use Dynapad on that side. I'm hoping to reduce road noise generally, and believe that will wipe out any remaining fuel line noise. Will report back when I have more news... I WILL eliminate all knocking.

not too bad with heat gun....

the glue that is left behind is tough, however.

So you don't mind clunking in your car? Helps you to identify things? I've never heard that logic, but hey, if it works for you go for it. I know you have a lot of parts you are installing, so hopefully they will clunk and you'll like those noises too while you drive?

Well, with the colder weather, the knocking noise is more noticeable again...

Tried the o-ring trick Lindsey suggests -- which did not help. May try bigger o-ring tomorrow. If that doesn't work, I may try replacing the pauerman fuel lines with a softer hose...

So Tom, you narrowed it down to the fuel lines now for sure?

Well, the noise is in the fuel system, originating at the rail (damper/injectors/FPR?) and traveling down the hard fuel lines under the body. Nothings for sure until I eliminate the noise though...
