Today I went to pay a visit to my brother in the city of Lancaster, California, he has a ranch over there and while I was driving on a very deserted road and I really mean it deserted, you need to be in Lancaster area to see how empty these streets are. I was cruising looking at the scenery, when I happen to look into my rearview mirror and this white wrx was right in my tail and just passed me very quickly, I didn't even get a chance to downshift, it was a brand new STI. Well a few miles ahead there was liquor store and I got down to get some coffee and to my surprise the STI guy was there and I proceeded to salute the guy and compliment him in how fast he had passed me back on the road. It was nice clean young man perhaps in his mid 20's he told me everything about the STI, with deep respect I expressed my admiration, indeed it was a nice looking car, it had leather interior, I didn't know they had leather interior in this things. Well as I was leaving the store he was looking at my car and I told him that it was a 1986 2.5L 8 valves engine, rated @ 217hp , he said it looks never than a 86, I said thanks. I asked if he would like to do roll test, I just want to see how fast the STI really is. Now pay attention He NEVER ASKED ME IF MY CAR WAS MODDED" Well, we got back on the road no cars coming either way for miles, no cross streets either just a empty road, from 2nd gear about 45 mph we hit it by the end of 3rd, he was in “Special Tool words two bus lengths behind" I finally slowed down, he came next to my window and said "I wasn't expecting that!! he asked me is your car modded? I smiled and said just a little, than he started to laugh so hard and we said goodbye.

I live around them parts (a little deeper, but have friends/relatives in Palmdale/Lancaster and am there often enough) and can vouch for long stretches of empty roads w/no cross streets and great visibility. Nice kill Lart!!
