So it had the stock floor and fire wall? The shock towers are all stock?
PCA rules state -
“At GT cars must have a Porsche chassis consisting of a stock tub that includes the original floor pan, rocker panel longitudinal frame members, front firewall, and front shock towers. Additionally, 914/924/955/968 chassis cars must have the original rear shock towers.”
The cars web site states –
“The race car you are looking at is the fourth and final 944 Turbo built by Worldwide Motorsports. It started life as a 1987 Porsche 944. The tub was stripped and acid dipped. It was then fixtured to our in house surface plate, the floor and firewall were removed and a complete tube chassis was fabricated inside the remaining tub. It was then painstakingly assembled with the best components available. Many of the parts on this car are one off pieces made by some of the most respected names in the racing industry. No expense was spared in building this car! This car currently holds lap records at Lime Rock Park and Watkins Glen. Car has PCA and SCCA log books.”
It’s a nice fab job, defiantly runs well but they way I read it its not legal for PCA GT racing. Maybe the scruts have different interpretation, maybe nobodies challenged it, maybe you got lucky.
If you know the loop hole I would love to know what it is.
No offense meant – I just read the rules….

O so that's how it is. Ok. I see how it is. How long has your track car gone untouched in your garage? I think you're close to beating me in that event. I mean comon, at least I have my gaskets for the motor already, lol. Speaking of that, I'm on my way to move the motor to the garage and going to start assembly tonight. I won't go off topic anymore, don't want the off topic police to get me.

There is nothing factory about the floor and the firewall and that is what the rules require. The rules also state that if it is not specifically allowed then it is not legal.
As the web site states – it is a tube frame car with a stock body on it. Not legal. If you really feel it is legal do you want me to pose the question to Donna? I normally wouldn’t want to make an issue out of it but you keep saying it is legal and I just don’t see it.
BTW – it doesn’t have to have a steel roof – that’s open for modification!

Nope, I am the kid that spent a lot of time and effort (still spending) on building a car to compete according to the rules. I wanted to tube frame the whole front end…but that’s not legal – Can I just do it anyway?
Your set up has many ideas that I would love to use – but I guess I am the type that can’t see spending many hours and $ to risk it being illegal. Would you complain if I showed up with a 2.7 or 2.8 turbo engine and entered as GT3 – because it was close enough? Virtually a 2.6…?
The only reason I belabored the point is that you keep insisting its legal – if it is, I would do the same thing to mine. I would love to move the fire wall a little and redo the floor so I can make some improvements.
