HOLY #$@%!!!

Why did you post that? You just had to didn't you? I've lusted over that car since I first saw photos of it. Now its for sale. Damn, if only he'd had waited a year to sell it. I'd be recovered from my divorce and would buy it in a heartbeat at his asking price.

They've come down on the price a little. It's been advertised at $90K for the last couple of months.

Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your perspective, it will likely sell for no more than $50,000 (assuming the owner would even sell it for that). There just isn't a huge market for highly developed 944 Turbo racecars. It doesn't have any historical significance per se. It's just a very well built 944 Turbo.

But I'll be very surprised if they get anywhere near their asking price.

It will be interesting to see what it sells for. As I remember Chris Cervelli couldn't get more than 40K for his full on 3.0 951 race car - it might have been even lower. He ended up parting it out.

The interesting thing is that it is not legal for PCA club racing….I don’t know where else you would run that!

PCA GT rules require you to keep the stock ‘tub’ ….

This car is one of the baddest sounding cars I have ever heard.. I am a big Formula one fan-I have heard them all-DFV's, turbo's ALL.
This is the main reason I decided to play with my 951, when I had only previously played with formula cars.

When I saw it at LRP, I was sure he was going to burn the stickers off of Tovolachi's leading GT1 when he BLEW by him on the front straight - (exhaust exits through passenger door)

Sad thing is most high hp 944 Turbo guys are moving to the 996 Cups. The guys that ran these really fast 944 turbo cars are finding that the wet cups are faster and easier to run. Plus as those cups are so readily available fields are large and the competition in general close.

Figure at 75k or 90k you are in 996 cup price ranges. Nice thing about cups is the lack of development and one off parts. Some breaks or fails just call up PMNA get a replacment.

It is too bad however as it was and still is nice to see well built turbo's running on track taking it to the 911's.

Lart. It seems every time I put in a number, there's an automoatic loss because of an E-bay member named Lartiga. Is this you?

Yeah, I was a little interested.

It could run in SCCA SPO, or NASA GTS Challenge. I thought it could run in PCA GTP, but after reading the rules it's not clear. At any rate I assume it raced in PCA GT3 like that ??? It looks like the engine has been moved back for weight distribution.

I think it has enough of the tub remaining to qualify. Still has strut/control arm front suspension which is key. The KMR 944/928 with the double control arms up front would be illegal, iirc

sweet car. i'm sure my mechanic would love for me to buy that and let him maintain it lol $$$$$$$

Thats not true. It has PCA tech'ed and approved many times. Ask the owner.

Great looking car, to duplicate it'll cost 2x or 3x what it might sell for. Most people will shy away from the one-off parts. About a year ago, a very well setup and very well modified 3L all out race car in excellent condition exchanged hands in the low 30s. It appears than once you go north of $30K 951 race car buyers become very hard to find. Most people want the prestigious cup cars.
It will be a shame to see this car go for anything less than the asking price! Maybe someone will benefit from the $ exchange rates and will pick it up.
