86 turbo Cab
Is this a real turbo? I thought turbo cab was made only in 91.

it might be a real turbo, have to see the engine compartment, and it's a conversion by someone, looks like they did a nice job but that would also be subjective, based on if they stiffened up the body.
Take a look at the trunk from the rear and then this shot of a real cab, look at the trunk lines along the outside edge.

could be factory
I read an article a couple of years ago written by a guy that had one for sale online (with pictures). His was a custom color that he called pearl red I believe. It had a bit of a pink hue but looked beautiful. Like the white one referred to in this thread, that one also lacked the bumper caps.
He claimed that his car was produced by Porsche in 1985 (instead of ASC) and was a one of a kind. It looked really odd seeing a pinkish red metallic cabriolet with Fuchs.

That white one is a bodyshop-special, it's not factory!
Porsche DID make some 944 cabs in 1986, but they were factory prototypes, and never left Porsche. There have been some photos circulating that shows a grey coloured 944 convertible with fuchs wheels.

Three Wheelin'
This is Bieber cabrio kit that is originalli made for 924 and 944 but easily can be adapted to 951, nothing really different here.
But, if I'd made this kind of conversion, I'd sourced a crashed or otherwise unusable S2 cab and convert the turbo to the "real" looking cab.
Note the rear quarters are higher and on original cab they're kind of bended lower. Plus the roof looks much better on original car.
But anyway, nicely done project and I love that interior

Chop tops are prone to body flex and scuttle shake. Always better to convert an actual cabrio.
