Default 60-130 MPH Accel Test

Okay, saw a thread on this type of accel test for some 993s. Just curious as to what a stock 951 does and then what something like DFASTEST's 951 does.

SO any takers for the accel test? I'll post my numbers in about a week once i'm back stateside and can have some fun once more....just for reference the following cars do it in:

Enzo: 7.0
CGT: 7.3
F430: 9.5
F50: 9.6
993 RUF Turbo R: 8.7
993TT Stock: 13.4
993TT S:12.2

Let's not let this thread turn into an argument over anything...if you don't have data to post or information or questions relating to this subject don't make any posts. Thanks in advance...LETS GET SOME ACCEL TESTS!

Sorry to ask but are you sure that the Enzo is virtually 2wice as fast as the 993tt? Seems a bit hard to believe? Were they in the same gear?

When I was tuning with my MafterBurner I was doing 3rd gear data logging runs from 2500rpm to 7000 rpm. Honestly I wasn't paying any attention to the speedometer just the tach and the road ahead, but 3rd gear at those rpms is close to going from 60 to 100. Maybe a little slower than 60 and a little faster than 100 but not as fast as 130 for sure.

It was at night with temps around 78°F, my 250lb self was driving and a 300lb friend was working the laptop. I was tuning at 16lbs boost. The times are pretty accurate as they were directly off the MafterBurner logs from were I stomped the throttle at 2500 rpm to when it reached 7000 rpm.

The first run was 14 seconds with some rich spots in the AFR. There were some 10's in there below 5000rpm. After some tweaking on the MafterBurner curves to get AFRs up to 12 throughout the rpm range we were both surprised to see the final run down to only 7 seconds. And that was with both of us big guys in the car!

To get to 130 would require a shift to 4th and someplace where "fear of ticket" didn't make you back off early.

333pg333: Those times were pulled from the 993 board where they are doing the same tests, I didn't actually research those numbers and they aren't to be taken for complete fact, however these numbers sound legit. THe 993's time goes from 13 seconds down to 8.7 with the RUF turbo R package - so take them for what you will...I actually don't have much time to research, however that should not stop anyone from getting some info on our cars!

RKD: Thanks for the info! This should turn out to be a VERY interesting thread indeed!

There are two threads on this subject, one here in the 951 forum (https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hlight=100-200) and one in the 993tt on a very similar topic (https://rennlist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173419).

Ahh yes I must have missed that one in my searching. Oh well I thought it would be fun to not have all the technical BS that always gets thrown in the way of the numbers on the board. I know there will be variations, but hey they're street cars aren't they?

Thanks Sweanders for the heads up on the other threads.

An uppercut or straight from RKD might force you to eat those words.. There might be a very good power/weight ratio.. Unless you are talking about the car..

Yea, I always have preferred the 60-100 more; done in 3rd gear, so no shifts or driver error. Only accel of car.

And at 100, give or take, it is much eaiser to get a lesser ticket then 130 130 = arrest.

after the gym tonight i'll do a 60-100 and post it

btw- i thought the other tests were 100-200kmh, so wouldnt that be like, 62mph-120mph not 130?

oh well, i have room for either one around my house.......

Ok, so what do we want? From what speed to what speed. This will be a worst case scenario with my car. It's so hot here I actually had to turn down my fuel pressure to get it to stop stuttering from running so rich. I'm in though, what are we looking for. I'll have my girl go with me with a stop watch unless someone has a better idea.

i think we want 30-100, 60-120 (or 130), and 100-200 mph if you can do it

No brake boosting!!!

This will also tell us who's car spools well in a real world situation.

So 3rd gear, ease up to 60mph, then floor it until 100. For most should be right at redline give or take.
