cpt_koolbleenz: I did the bezel myself. I first stripped the complete lilliput screen and only used the internals (otherwise it wouldn't fit nicely enough). I made a wooden frame to fit into the "double din" space. A very thin layer of black "fineer" (=dutch) was glued onto the wooden frame.

That's so cool, I'm going to have to look into a custom system to get that from my installer. That said, any interest in my Nakamichi deck and DIN 5 disc changer should let me know so when the time comes, I can upgrade mine and you can upgrade yours...

DFASTEST,
Do you know the model number of the component you have installed in your lower DIN? The reason I ask is because I like to know how much depth is really possible. From my measurements there should be ~6-6.5inches of depth possible if one takes a dremel to the bracket on the inside.
Thanks.

Frank, what did you do for mounting? Do you just use the holes under the ash tray?

I have it setup so I can put screws in the middle of the bezel, but they have to go in from the backside (will be hard to get to if I use them)... It is pretty "in there" the way it is now with only two screws...

I have only use the two screws near the ash tray/shifter. The weight of the screen is keeping it in place.

RK951, I believe it's an M45. Hope it helps. Doesn't matter. If you are thinking about mine, it will come with the mounting plate, all brackets and covers if and when I sell it...

I'm not interested in buying yours rather I'm trying to determine the depth available in the lower DIN. My installer here believes he can fit a double DIN Nav unit like the Alpine IVA-W200 or Pioneer AVIC-Z1 head units. I asked for the model number of the component you have installed so I could determine its depth. Who is the vendor for "M45" and is it a head unit, tapedeck etc?

It's a Nakamichi and only certain dealers carry them so I don't know who would carry them in Cali. I'm sure your installer can get one if he wanted to. It's a CD player.

Frank: Did you design that Road Runner OS yourself or is it available on the open market? Details please! It looks very sharp.

Road Runner is available at
Road Runner Homepage

I've put the Porsche logo in it. The images for the BMV2 menu with Porsche logo can be downloaded here:
