Default Swaping a K26/6 for a K 26/8

I know do a search or ! Well, I did a search and found my thread where nobody answered my question!

Did you have to modify anything to swap a K 26/6 for a K 26/8?

I am forsure that I will have to get new seals and gaskets and all that fun stuff!

Switched mine this weekend and there is no difference between the two regarding how they bolt up. Replacing seals for the oil lines and exhaust gaskets would be the same if you were swapping in another 26/6. Only other thing you need to change are your chips.

You can see the difference between the two turbine wheels, 26/8 is the top one, 26/6 is the bottom. Bolt patterns are identical.

Viteese AFM K26/8 chips!

I wonder if my Authority KLR chip is alright to leave in!
And ditch the Hollow banjo bolt!

Vitesse makes some great stuff. I had used his 26/6 chips until I installed the 26/8. However, there are other options out there.

You may want to send an email to this guy (gregor_hall@yahoo.com.au) He is the person who burned my 26/8 chips at a very reasonable price. He also has an ad in the classifieds.

And I would think your KLR chip shouldn't matter since your likely bypassing the CV anyway. I pulled my Autothority KLR and put the stock one back in simply so I could try and sell the Autothority KLR and DME chips as a set.

Have you Dyno'd the chips that "gregor_hall@yahoo.com.au" made for you?

My plan is this
Vitiesse AFM 26/8 chip
K 26/8 "cheater"Turbo
Tial 38mm
Greddy EBC
K&N Inhaler System
Lindsey "Hard Pipes"
Lindsey Vac Line kit
Maybe my test pipe on

I don't think that I need to step up to 3BAR fuel reg or 55lb injectors.

I would like to Get into the 300-325 hp range, but not much more.

It will be a wise idea to make sure you have a little extra fuel around your HP peak - you will need it, especially if you deviate from stock boost levels.

I guess you are infering that a 3 BAR FPR is smart at a minium.

No dyno yet. Plan to check the AFR with a wideband before scheduling dyno time. Here is a link post from another lister using his chips for a MAF.

If you are planning that kind of horsepower you should definetely get some new injectors.

55 Lb injectors + 3 Bar FPR
Any name Name brand on the injectors.

Another Question:

When I hook up the EBC and ditch the Cycling valve and venturi.

Will my boost gauge in the car quit working?

Only if you disconnect your KLR vac line, then it reads atmospheric.

The Vitesse AFM chip "requires" a 3-bar FPR no matter what size injectors you chose. Each injector variation (choice) on the chip is mapped based upon 3-bar.

KuHL, I know that you can still run stock FPR with vitesse chips according to the instructions I got. It just depends on the FQS setting.

I gotta be honest I have been talking with Special Tool and I really sold on the Idea of a Viteese Stage II with #72 inj and 3 BAR FPR.

That properly tuned is like bolting on 300-350 RWHP!

As they say, "speed is just a question of money, how fast do you wanna go?". Pick the setup that meets your goals and enjoy it! I went the 26/8 route b/c it matched my goals and my budget.
