Default looking for a 951

Im still looking for a 951. what im really looking for is just a good body, the engine can be toast since im building my own for this one, and the interior can be shot since i have a perfect black interior waiting for a new home. I dont want a perfect running car because i want to build this with my own parts anyway and it would just be a waste of money. let me know what you got. thanks

Looking for a 951 in the $ 3000.00 well I have one for you, has a rod bearing failure and tranny won't shift to 4th gear otherwise is perfect for 3k. That's about the best you can get for 3k unless you want to buy a 944 n/a of course.

I'm going to disagree lart. If you look hard enough you can find decent 951's (no major issues) for right around $3k. Plan on spending some money making sure its ok thou.

Sorry, I don't know of any right now, but just keep looking.

Ive seen em go for that in not running condition before when i wasnt in the market. I do all my own work and have alot of parts. I actually found one for 2k one time that only needed timing belt reassembly

$3k for a rod bearing and bad tranny? Are you going to include the vaseline?

2k-3k for a non running 951 is okay, If you guys know of any 944t in that condition on the west coast let me know. I can more than double that money on parts alone. If I was searching for a car for my self I'll be looking in the 10k+ range . I'm heading to oakland to pick up a 1987 951. I got that one for $ 3900.00 it has wasted spark, stand alone, d90 wheels, decent interior and some other stuff. The engine and tranny are okay but the car is going to be part it out.

luis is right about pricing. i ended up parting some of my car out and made 5 grand in parts and sold what was left for 3k. These are estimates i may have made more . I guess hell of alot of better then offers i was getting for 1500 bucks for everything and i still have my rims and tires not included in that price.

just look around for cars that have broken timing belts, messed up tranny etc.. around on craigslist or newspaper or even forums and usually some people will sell them cheap knowing how much it will cost to fix them since the prices of mechanics are way up there. They try recovering some of the money by just selling as a whole but if you have the time and space parting it out will bring alot more money in. But remember parting out cars take alot of time and space as i have learned

I'm not saying you can't make your money back, but for a spun bearing and shot tranny... I paid waay less than $3k for my 2nd 951 that had an engine fire and some minor body damage. Actually I know of one here in locally that snapped a t-belt on that my co-worker picked up for $1800.

You can push your luck on ebay! However, the cheapest I have seen on go (running) is $5500! Still they normally have issues.

WES: $1800 and only a snapped t-belt? I just can't stop shaking my head over this. I will be test driving a 951 tomorrow that needs about 2K in body work and a new A/C comp. and I hope to talk him down to about 4K. That's the market here in Germany. See my first post here for my dilemma: https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turbo-and-turbo-s-forum/283636-introduction-guidance-assistance.html

Schneller: Did you have your 951 shipped to here or did you pick one up here?

I think I'm going to be sick now
