On my 89 Turbo the intercooler pipe pops off at joint to the hose on the passenger's side. The hose never let's go of the intercooler. I have replaced the hose in case it was old/hard, but it is still doing it. What is the best solution?

tighten the crap out of it.
and yeah, clean all the oil off before you do so.
man, that was a fun day when i didnt tighten my intercooler hoses at all.
anyone want to take a guess how hard the car STOPS when you hit 1 psi with loose intercooler pipes?
i actually hit my head on the sun visor mount.

yeah its interesting when you are doing about 130 and when you let off and slow down to turn and all of a sudden your car is idling at 400 rpm and doesn't want to go any where.. i'm not gona lie i thought i had eaten a valve or some thing. Luckily all that happened was the boot popped off the throttle body.
Just clean off the boot and what ever its going on real good with brake parts cleaner and tighten it good and you should be set

Mine popped off mid 3rd gear movin down the drag strip.
It went POP, and no go.
Scared the begeebees out of me.
Limped back to the pits and found it was only the intercooler connection. Whew.

I have had mine pop-off and/or split a couple of times. Just as a precaution I had JET951 flush out my intercooler to see if there was crap in there that had been deposited over the years and could possibly interfere with the flow. It had a lot of crap inside so maybe this will help. Does anyone know why these hoses are prone to doing this?

I assumed it must be the increased psi as I have had all my plumbing replaced. I am onto my 4th intercooler hose since Feb. The Silicone one's seem to be the answer.

Like someone said, clean both thie inside of the hose and the outside of the pipe. Use a solvent like carb claeaner or Brake Clean to remove all the oils.
Be careful with T-bolt clamps, you can do some serious damage if you tighten them too much.
