Default Hard Pipe Advice

I think I can see the light at the end of my "bolt on" k27 install. Right now I have to make a shim to create enough clearance to mount the throttle body, par for the course.

Eventhough the IC to TB configuration has'nt changed, my BOV isn't fitting like the last time and the angle of the BOV inlet to the hard pipe is a real show stopper. Which of course has me thinking that a new set of hard pipes will fix it.

Who's hard pipes fit the best (I'm not looking to get some gargantuan BOV) or if you have a set FS that's even better. Pics are helpful too.

I just put a new set of the LR ones on my car, gave the old ones to a friend locally from the Kokeln intake set. The new LR ones are nice.

Bret, did you not have any fitment issues with the LR long pipe? I am having all kinds of troubles with my brand new LR ones! It is too long and has to be manipulated to install it, then it hits the hood when closed!!!!!!!!!!!!!arrgghh.

I cut a half inch off of my turbo/intercooler pipe. They make them a bit longer than needed, for some, depending on the indexing of the turbo. No issues here. If you don't have a vice and hack saw, take it to any local machine or welding shop with a band saw, $5 and 1 minute.

Yes, I can cut it down, but I will lose the indentation that is there to keep the pipe from blowing off under pressure. It just makes me a little mad to buy brand new hard pipes and pay them to powder coat them, and then have to take a hack saw to them so they will fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this the turbo to intercooler one? The one I have, the end that goes down to the turbo, doen't have the bead, it's straight and that's where I cut off the little amount.

Ouch castor!

I guess I'll just be happy that SFR is in town and that Tim's guys can crank out whatever fits the best.

Look at the link below and see how you can put your on beaded end on a IC pipe. The vice grip in this picture looks really crude but I have seen one in action and it did the job.

Same here - had to cut the coupler short on the (LR Stage 2) turbo to IC pipe but the TB to IC (LR) hard pipe fits fine.
