Zeitronix Wire Broke -- Pin Extractor?
One of the wires snapped off the connector harness on my Zeitronix unit. It broke off right at the pin on the little black connector that plugs into the Zt-2. Anybody know the right pin extractor and a source for the little pins that fit that connector?

Well, after a little more investigation, it seems to be a 3mm molex (43025), so now I'm off looking for a pin extractor and spare pins of that variety. Any suggestions?

I found the pin extractor at Mouser, and will probably just order it if I can't pull the pin out without it.

Tom,
Have you checked your local military surplus store(s)? -I know that there are some in the San Francisco area. -The local store has pin extractors/pin inserters for almost every type of connector, including ones specific to various fighter aircraft!
BTW, is it a round Molex pin/turret or the more common flat pin/blade?

I've bought a lot of stuff from Jameco mail-order, they're a good company.
These are the contacts, there's a spring barb-type clip on TWO opposite sides which has to be released simultaneuosly.
My local surplus place almost certainly has 'em, but I'm a continent away...
There's a D-sub pin extractor tool with very soft metal which would almost certainly be adaptable to the task, it's a sort of open-circle 'C' shape "three-quarter tube" which is soft enough to use on these sort of connectors (throw away afterwards) which Rat-Shack usually carries, though good luck getting the minimum-wage cellphone-saleperson behind the counter to understand what you're asking for!

Well, for the archives, I went to Jameco Electronics and bought a pin extractor (Jameco #338669, $14.99) and a pack of new terminal pins (Jameco # 337720, $.94). The harness is as good as new now (can't tell it was repaired) and it was actually a few dollars cheaper than buying a new harness from Zeitronix and resoldering all the connections. (I'm also prepared should another of these skinny wires break off!)
