[Trying to] remove fan shroud
I've followed the Clarks Garage guide (Coolant-4) and have the fan shroud unbolted and the wires disconnected so the assembly is floating free. However, I can't get the blasted thing to come out. The rigid metal external oil cooler line is in the way and I can't get the right side of the fan shround to slip out. Grr.

I tried for a long time to get it out of there, without luck. You either have to loosen and move those oil cooler lines, or do what I did: break the radiator to get it out. Ok, well mine was broken anyway, so it didn't matter, I was taking it out to replace it. I modified the radiator crossmember so that now I can pull the radiator out through the bottom without doing much else.

You do not have to loosen the oil cooler lines! The oil cooler mounting bolts can be removed to allow you to move the cooler out of the way, allowing you to get the fan shroud out of the way.

The fan assembly should come out once you have that mount loosened. You have to bring it down driver's side first.

I was mistaking the duct work bolts for the cooler mount bolts :-/
Well, front is off (after 3 hours)
But even with the cooler displaced I still can't get the darn thing out. (And it looks like someone busted a corner trying to do so in the past :-/)

I pulled my fan shroud out from the bottow, first jacking the car up, pull off the undertray, undo the electrical connections to the fans, take the bolts of the shroud out, wiggle the shroud until it comes out as this might take a few minutes. Getting around the AC compressor and coolant hoses is tricky and if you think you are going to break the switch off the fan, take off the belt and move the compressor. I'm not sure why people are saying to move the oil cooler lines?
