Jesse, In CO most of the lisence fee is a property tax, and after the car is 10 years the property tax drops to about $1, so total tag price for a car over 10 years old is around $27. However, when I had my Boxster I was paying $600-700 a year for tags.

There's always "CMLI" in keeping with my theme. . .

BOOOOST
9FIVE1
NINE51
2FST4U
CNTTCH (can't touch this)
CTCHME (catch me)

Other ones people I know have actually had at one time or another:

"JOMAMA" (variation on "yo mama!", a buddy of mine back in MA)
"STLNCR" (stolen car, guy in high school)
"SCRU55" (screw the 55-mile-an-hour speed limit. Don't know how he managed to get it)

I'm sure there are a few I'm forgetting. . .

The state of Massachusetts actually issued six "punctuation" plates for a few years. Plates with only the characters ? * ! # & and . I'm pretty sure. Funny thing is a guy I know (who's an AVID license plate collector - his barn is covered floor-to-ceiling inside with them) has five of the original six (no longer legal). One of his co-workers found the last one and refuses to sell it to him just to irk him. . . Too funny. Anyway, does Colorado allow stuff like that?

They don't allow punctuation... I do know people who enjoy putting their own on...

Hell, I was cruising I-25 last friday, saw a Ford Focus... the licenseplate said ITIGGER... Well, the lady I guess was saying she loved tigger... so she put a small heart betwen the "I" and the "T"... thus, from a distance making it look like an "N"... friend and I did a double take, surprised we didn't see her car full of bullet holes...

I think for sh*ts and grins, I'll put "STOLEN" as the last option
