Default Thinking of buying a 951

I am thinking about selling my 87 944 N/A and getting a 951. I like my 944 no problems at all with it (except a small oil leak at the cam tower) I just like like the turbos as the power difference in a stock 944 to a 951 is like day and night.

I am not looking for one modded with a high price tag just one that has been well maintained and is dependable daily driver. I will do the mods as I get the money like I did on my 944.

I have almost all the receipts of the work that has been done on my car and everything that is common costly problems has been done, Timing belt, water pump, new head gasket, new injectors, new plugs and wires, new belts and hoses, new radiator and hoses, A/C is cold heat is hot, Sunroof works new gears and seal, Seats redone drivers is 8 way power, carpet redone, New window tint, 17 in boxster twists, KN air filter not installed new in box with parts, After market steering wheel momo adapter and quick release hub not installed, New clutch and slave cylinder, new cv axles, backlit white face guages, New leather shift boot, Great paint and more.

Any one have a line on a decent 951 might want to trade for my 944 or buy mine let me know. Thanx guys.

With a broken timing belt, the car will most likely not sell for much whole. As nice looking as your car is, parting it out would be a sin. If I were you, I would find someone in your area to help, and fix the bent valves, head, etc. from the timing belt mishap. Used heads can be found pretty easily for NAs, and doing the work will be well worth it for the sale. Just my .02.

^^^ Excellent advice!

If you are planning on modding, get a car with the mods you are looking for. It will save you an arm and a leg in the long run.

Unless you like spending countless hours under/hunched over the car spewing profanities..

Default Well taking offers on the car!!

I am going to bite the bullet and take offers on my 944 . I hate to take such a loss but I have been soo busy I have not had time to fix the it. The timing belt broke in may and it has been sitting at my mechanics shop waiting for me to buy a head. This is a tremendous deal for someone the car is in great shape cosmetically and mechanically (Less the timing issue) the following is what all is wrong with the car

Timing belt broke needs head replacement

Drivers side door handle needs repair

Thats it!!

This is what it has working and added:

Boxster 17" wheels not replicas

Working A/C!

NewSunroof gears and seal new works well

Seat like brand new reupohloster before I bought it

carpet like new

New window tint

Sony Explode CD

new shifter leather boot

White face guages that are back lit

dash cap

New CV axles

New radiator (Car never ran hot stayed on cool even in Texas)

Clutch a little over a year old

New slave cylinder

remote entry (driver side only)

New door speakers (Plus have an extra set of PIoneers almost new Ill thro in)

About a dozen oil filters

I bought a Momo adapter and quck release hub and an after market steering wheel I didnt get to install

I have a K&N air filtert with hardware that I didnt get to install.

Ther is more I am missing I have receipts for almost all the work done above If you have any specific question please ask.

The car has about 110,000 miles on it. Had the mileage wrong the 130,000 was the mileage on my cadillac. sorry.

I have only had the car 10 months and hate to part with it but have teen that needs a car and have too many in drive now. I have over 5700.00 in the car with the purchase price would like to get as much as possible for it as it sits.

Help me out! Make an offer I have found a head for it and I have the timing belt. I just dont have time to mess with it. I would like to get a 951 some time the next year after I get my Teenager on the road.

Thanx in advance.

It will be harder to sell without fixing the head first. Although the clean look of the car will help alot.
Personally, I would sell the Boxster Twists seperate, and see how the sale without fixing the valves first.

Sadly, for sellers, the diminished prices on 944's hurt. With a running 944, they run around 5k, you could try to sell for more if running, but only 1k or so as the higher you get, the closer to 951/S2 range you get. Non-running 944's tend to put the price down 1-2k, and lower your range of prospective buyers.

Man, I would love to pick it up - unless you want to trade for some firearms - don't have much to offer you. Currently all my spare cash is going towards my Eurotrip this x-mas.

I would take 2500 for it as i sits. That is taking a hell of a lump on it as I paid over 600 for the boxsters alone. I should just fix the car but my son definetly is not getting it as a first car!lol. I was going to give him my cadillac but it has 300hp and I let him drive with me once in it and scared me. My insurance wouldnt handle that. He needs a KIA! Well sharky I wold love for you to be able to come get my baby since your soo close but I understand. I dont need no firearms got plenty waiting on Bin laden to send a terror squad to my neck of the woods to ventilate a few terrorists!!LOL!!

Thanks guys for responding this is an excellent car and I believe a price of 2500 is more than fair. I might have to go to e-bay and see what it brings. I would to hate pay the seller fees on that much. I forgot to mention the control arms were rebuilt.

I had to change the mileage above as it was wrong the 130000 was the mileage on my cadillac the 944 has almost 110,000 showing Texas car!

If you guys know anyone let em know. I would hate part this thing out it is too nice.
