Default Conflict with 38mm tial and EBC

Before i installed my 38mm wastegate a couple days i was able to set boost what ever number i wanted to like level 1 was 5psi level 2 10psi etc.. Now that i but i but the tial wastegate on there i will only get 10psi or 15psi depending on what number. It also tends to over boost a little (somtimes) and it doesnt hold 15psi til redline, prob cus of the old 144,000 mi k26. Can you help please its driving me NUTS thanks

correct me if i'm wrong, but the min boost you can run is what the spring in the tial is. Why would you want to run 5psi?

Have you installed the tial back to front, the results you are getting are inline with my accidental testing of this configuration

Correct. One of the most common springs is the .8bar which would be about 10 psi, right?

Eyal is correct the lowest pressure you can run is determined by your selection of wastegate springs. Do you recall what they were rated for? 10PSI would be .68 bar and I'm not sure what combination of wastegate springs you would have to wind up there. Sure it wasn't ~12PSI? (.8 bar) Also, what are you using to measure boost? Where are you tapping in for your signal?

With respect to overboosting, give a better description of the situation - when and under what conditions does it seem to be occuring? Is there a gain setting on the Blitz EBC? I have a Greddy that allows you to set your buildup of boost (gain). If you set the ramp up too high it will cause the car to overboost for a second and quickly come back down to the correct setting.

Actually now that I re-read your description I think your boost controller is plumbed in backwards. The solenoid out should go to the side port of the wastegate like this diagram shows:
http://gallery.rennlist.com/albums/JABRacing/cliff.jpg

If this is the case it would explain the situation. Check your boost controller plumbing.

Edit: And also verify that you installed your Tial wastegate in the reverse direction from your stock wastegate - it needs to mount in the opposite orientation from the stock one.

i believe it is mounted right because when i sent it to him they were in the right directions and you can't install it any other way without takin the plates off.

Hmm, well then I am sticking to the boost controller plumbing being a potential culprit.

eyal951: i was running 5 psi of boost when i was around town.
Hally: ????????
streckfu's951: sounds correct.
944 fanatic: my boost signal is tapped into the KLR. 944 are you sure about the plumbing. That the side of the wastegate goes the out on the solenoid???.
Daniel951: what is my spring rate on the wastegate???

i just re-read your first post so are you saying before the wastegate your setting 1 would get you 5psi and setting 2 would get you 10psi? and now after teh wastegate your setting 1 gets you 10psi and setting 2 gets you 15psi?

Yes but i wasnt using the same ratio. Ok let me explain. level 1: 25=5psi level 2: 50=10psi Level 3: 75=15 psi. but now its like Level 1 is 25=10 psi and like level 2: 34=15psi.. The levels doesnt matter is just were you save the setting. I dont think i am not getting any leaks cus the pulls like there was no tomorrow with no lag whats so ever i am reaching 15 pounds by like 2,600 with hard accel. But when i get home i am going to check for any leaks.
