Ok gang,
I am begining to consider some power updates to my Turbo S.
I can put in Vitesse chip and should be able to get to about 275 rwhp on my stock K26/8. Correct?
What more would it take to hit a reliable 300 rwhp using crappy 91 pump gas?
Different Turbo? MAF? Injectors? WG?
BTW... I would probaly want to keep the cat on the car too.

With a MAF, injectors, new WG and tune it I would bet you could get 300rwhp out of it. If you drop your cat, I would say 99% sure you could get it with just those. How much boost do you want to run?

This would be done only after I pulled the motor, checked & cleaned everything.

Don't be too concerned with peak numbers. You only hit the pak at a certain RPM, but you spend most of the time at other RPMs. Shoot for the largest area under the curve. On your car the K26 is the limiting factor, it just does not flow wnough. If you want a solid 300rwhp, matching torque and a flat beefy power curve, you will have to upgrade the turbo (and associated components to support the added power).

Hi Joe,
Take a look at this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=20449
Streckfu posted some interesting charts comparing the K27/6 to 2 different K26/8's

I figured that. So what is realistic if I stay with a my stock k26/8? The 300 hp thing is sort of a nice round number, but agree that the best thing is less peak power with a better curve.

The K26/8 will do 300 rwhp in the 951, although that's pushing the turbo pretty much to its limits. I did it with an MAP setup and with the factory cat, but my turbo was dropping boost in the upper rpm's (18 psi peak dropping to 15 psi at redline). I've heard of a few others who have also done around 300 rwhp with the K26/8. If your engine is good and strong I'm sure it can be done with a good MAF setup, perhaps the Vitesse. The part I'm not so sure about is whether it could be managed with 91 octane. I always run 93 octane.

If you want to push the boost with 91 octane and high ambient temps you could implement a water injection setup. Check out http://www.snowperformance.net/. You can also search for a couple of installs on Rennlist. I think B951S had a snow setup.

M758,
I posted a dyno run several weeks ago. 263 RWHP or about 300 hp at the crank. 278 Ft/Lbs at the wheels. Weltmeister chips and a 3mm wastegate shim. 3 bar FPR. I would think Vitesse's chips would do even better. Stock air cleaner and exhaust. Plenty of power for a street car. (Now I am going to get flamed.)
