Default 6 piston front calipers.

has anyone put 996 gt3 6 piston calipers on their 944/951? can it be done. i know of a two front calipers for sale but dont know if they would fit. obviously there would have to be some sort of adapter made, and different bias.

It can be done. I am trying to do something simular but with Cayenne calipers. The biggest problem I had was finding the right rotor. Adaptor are easy to make, rotors in the other hand, are very cosly.

Their is a company that does GT3 caliper conv. to 944/951, I just can't remenber now. someone in here sould know.

Good, then you make an adapter similar to the adapter for mounting big reds, except the bolt spacing are wider on your calipers.
For brake discs you could probably use the loose hubs (from the big reds kit again) and mount a pair of standard race discs to in a suitable size, like 350*34 mm.

That's it vehiclecraft was that company.........I gave them a call a few months ago, and the quote me about 1K for each the rotor(I think). I'm still searching for a more reasonable price alternative.

Here's my set up:

GT2 6-piston front calipers.The rears will be GT3 4-piston ones.

Here's adapters for GT2 fronts and GT3 rears:

My friend Pete (pete95zhn) will also have similar setup. Here's picture of the trial fitment under his car:

Our calipers are just having new yellow powdercoat.Should get them back next week.

With these calipers, rotors, adapters and Ferodo 3000 pads this mod is not a cheap one.

This mod is much easier for non S 951's

Rotors can be bought from your local Porsche dealer. You can use GT2 steel front rotors, they are about 400€ / rotor. The adapters were made by a local shop according to my friend Pete's drawings

That looks really nice. Pads for those rotors must be a small fortune.

Without any discount Ferodo 3000 would cost for GT2 fronts and GT3 rears about 730€. As i wrote earlier, it is not a cheap upgarde. Luckily we got quite good offer...
