Default BOV vacuum line

What king of vacuum line do you all run to the bypass (aka BOV) valve? I still have the stock skinny black plastic line but was going to replace it. Any opinions? Does it matter?

I'll take that as a vote for silicon tubing. Thanks.

The Lindsey kit is an excellent choice, I have been impressed with all their products to date. For vacuum lines, I went down to NAPA and ordered their high-temp silicone hose. Specs say its good to 375 degrees F, and used brass T's to make conections. They also were able to order extra small spring clamps for all the connections to be sure nothing came loose under high boost levels. Whole setup cost around 15 or 20 bucks, including the 50' roll of hose. I had everything the next day, and have had no trouble with it so far. Just thought I'd share.

Well I just used rubber vacuum hose for the time being. My 20 year old factory plastic lines were more clogged than Dom Deluise's arteries, so I wanted to put something new in there. PepBoys had plastic looking boy-racer tubing in neor colors, which they claimed to be silicon, but I figured I'd wait. Napa is a good idea -- they tend to have access to better stuff.

6mm samco hose here to the BOV. The LR product is a little thin in gauge, especially if you are having issues keeping the valve open.

Hi NZ! fyi the hose it .100" thick

LR Silicon

Note: I believe Lindsey changed the hose OD, i got the vacuum kit last Jan (2005) and when i ordered a new batch (late Jan 2006) the new batch had a thicker OD.

Yikes! A simple "I'm not Andrew, NZ, AMAF, or anyone else people think I am." would suffice.

Back on topic, www.hosetechniques.com offers good tubing in bulk if you want to piece together your own kit.

Just because you're not paranoid, doesn't mean they are not after you Wes.
