Default Hi Everyone

I'm a new member and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mike and I'm a cop in Michigan. I have a deal in the works to buy an 87 951 next week and I am excited as hell. My wife doesn't share my enthusiasm but how many do? I told her she could help me work on the car if it makes her feel better

Anyway, the car needs a drivers side headlight cover and drivers side mirror glass. If any of you can be of assistance let know and I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Mike

BTW, I'm waiting for my membership # so until then I can't update.

welcome aboard! I'm glad to have another police officer on the board. It's nice to hear cop's views on the monthly "wahh, I got a ticket because I breoke the law" threads.
I appreciate what you do, but please, keep the speeds safe with that 951 of yours

Welcome Mike!

You might check with Rennlist user "Super Dave". He's got a few parts cars and has always given me good prices on used items... great guy too. He's local for me, so that makes parts pick-up/delivery even easier

Definately welcome to Rennlist. there are many people here with parts cars that you could get a good deal on. Just keep in mind. Mirror glass is universal... However headlight doors are not. you need one from a turbo or S2.

Welcome, What part of Michigan are you from?
Me, Jordan (J Kapp, who also just joined) and another 924/944 owner live in Flint for 1/2 the year. This spring we will try to have a get together in the Lansing area.

Welcome Mike! The handle fits There're quite a few Michiganders and Michigeese on the board My partner's mother lives in Grand Ledge (near Lansing) and I'm in MI visiting a lot. I may be able to help you with the glass from your mirror - I'll have to see if it's still in the carriage house. If so, I can bring it next time I'm over there. Again, welcome aboard!

hahaha, ah yes the street racing threads! I actually have one... I raced a ZO6, it was on accident though. I was on the freeway testing my oil pressure. I went WOT at about 70mph, and as I start pulling, I notice the car thats beside me, hasnt disapeared behind me. I looked and its a zo6, and the guy just nailed it. (oops, I didn't know he was there!) My car is loud, he obviously though I challenged him. He started pulling on me, I let off at like 85mph, and he zoomed off... Apearently, I got owned.

Thanks everyone. Sorry for the late reply but things got hectic at work last night and I din't get home until late. I am from Niles which is about 20 minutes from South Bend, IN/Notre Dame. When I get the car next week, I'll let you all know.

Porschephile 924, That's interesting about the headlight cover. I emailed a couple places and one had an 86 cover I believe. I asked them specifically if it would fit on this car and "Oh yeah, no problem." So maybe I just need to ask you guys before I get something that won't work. 944online has one but it's $153.00. Any help is appreciated.

Can't wait to get together with some of you this summer.
