Smile Future N. Texas GTG?

Hey guys, I'm going to be home from Iraq in April, from the 4th to the 24th to be exact, and I would like to arrange something in that time period. Ive tried arranging one before, but it didnt work out time wise because my school was having issues with my orders. John mentioned something about doing it again in May? I hope we can do it before then! I'd really like to put faces to signatures! I'm from S.W. Arlington, but I know the Metroplex fairly well and can get pretty much anywhere.

Sweet! John, you know the area fairly well, if you have any ideas for a place to meet, I'd want to meet somewhere that no ones really been, which is probobly impossible! haha. I'll keep thinkin on it, and keep updating.

I'd be in for sure. I think we should plan a drive from one location to another.

Great idea Danny! hey, where exactly in Arlington are you? I live at I-20 & Little Rd. I've never been to the new Ruf Dealer yet, tried going when I was home back in July/August, but never could get over there. Maybe we can end up there, or start there, wouldnt matter, I just really want to check the place out. Any other ideas? Also, I don't want to restrict this to just 944's, my dad has a 911 and I know he'd be there, I'll post in some other Forums and see if we can't get more people!

Maybe the Bone Daddy's in Grapevine will be open by then.

Yeah, they probably will. That would be good. Then drive over to the RUF place maybe?

Darwin, I live off of S.E. Green Oaks and SH-360, on the Arlington side, just south of I-20.

Hey Guys,

Just tryin to keep this towards the top so people can see it. I've gotten some good response from some of the other forums. A couple 911 and 928 guys are in as well.

Update:

I have someone willing to host us all at his place at Motorsport Ranch on any of the race weekends in April. I was thinking we could all meet up somewhere, say RUF or Bone Daddy's, get something to eat, then head over there and watch some racing.

I'm all for another GTG, heck, I may even have my Turbo running by then

As for driving all over the place, Bone Daddy's (Grapevine) to RUF (Carrolton) to MSR (Cresson) is a LOT of driving, and most of on city streets/highways... I'm not sure I'd sign up for all that. I live about 15 minutes from MSR, so I might drive up to Grapevine to eat, then meet you guys back down at MSR after your trek to RUF.

The best "Porsche" weekend at MSR in April will be 4/8-4/9, the Maverick Region PCA is having a DE that weekend.

Hey guys, I've been looking into it, and the guys that have told me so are right. I don't think meeting at RUF would be best, seeing as its so far away from MSR. I like the idea of meeting at Bone Daddy's, but even if it's open, Grapevine to MSR would be quite a drive. Would everyone be willing to meet at a restaurant somewhere in Ft. Worth then drive to MSR from there?

Whichever is cool with me. Grapevine is not far from Arlington so going to Ft. Worth or to Grapevine isn't much difference. I definately want to get some driving in though, and the trip to MSR sounds great.
