Not my car but a Rennlister that posts under 951and944s. Take a look. I'm sure if you have questions he'll post the appropriate details.
Just got it out of the paint booth. Rollcage and fire suppresion installed. Also a Lemans wing being fitted. Fabricated Dash. More pics to come.
Note: pics are not in order of completion.

Owner says "we found melted aluminium from the intake that looked like solder when it hits the ground from a hot soldering gun."

Engine out

Engine out and sandblasted, etch primed, urethane primed and painted the bay back in factory Alpine White. Notice any difference?

BTW Terry about the last pic, that sure is one superfly pimp vehicle on the lift. You have a side business I need to know about?

Hey Scott, seems like old times, you have a file of my newest car like the one I kept on yours under construction.....
Hey Bret, what I need is a JWL. Can I borrow him...?
This project isn't going at warp speed like the JAB Racing effort for sure, it's been, what, two years since we first talked about this car...?
(see email about satin black chip)
I'd like to talk soon, I'll send along my shop #.
Eyal, I hear ya on the welding but I met a connection that bypassed the 6 week wait on the cage and got it for me at cost. He keeps extra long door bars and I'm gonna weld those in. I had already finished with the interior refinish and didn't want to grind away several weekends of work. Anyone that's gone to this extreme can tell you that this phase is one of, if not the biggest hurdle in the process.
In addition, I've personally seen several Spec Miatas and know of two 944s that rolled with Autopower bolt in cages and they all held together 100%, no ripped floor sheet metal, no sheared bolts.
Anyways, appreciate the comments *and* the concerns.....
To the rest of you guys that know me from way back-

How ya been David....?
I've got a question for you too....
IIRC, you had a lightened flywheel from stock, I think we had discussed this way back. I lightened my own at a friend's machine shop for my Guards street car when I did the Spec disc and lightweight pressure plate but I had 45'ed the mass that people usually take off and left a little material there for extra strength due to the increased spring pressure of the spec PP.
For this car, the guys at the machine shop remembred what I ws trying to accomplish and offered to take care of it for me since my free time is pretty limited these days.
When I picked up the one for this project just today, I noticed that they took off the material that I left on the first one, cutting flush all the way across the back.
They both balance out at less than .050 gram @ 2500 but this last one looks pretty weak.
I think my first one weighed in at 9.5-10 lbs. but this one (haven't weighed it yet) feels like 8.5-9.0.
Do you remember what the weight of yours was, was it cut flush across the back and have you had any trouble out of it...?
OK, so that was three questions......
