OT: High Speed Pursuit Today
Well Guys this didn't involve the police, but it sure reminded me of risky business.
I was driving home and I made a left hand turn and the guy in front of me stopped completely so I moved into the left lane after checking both mirrors and looking back(have to do that in Lubbock) and about 10 second later some silver GMC envoy is honking at me and on my *** so I boost it a little don't turn in where I live. He turns off on another street so I think he's done, so I take the long way home.
About a minute later, there he is again on my ***, so I turn onto another street avoiding a school(don't want to run over any kids) and don't go in the direction of my house. I turn onto another street going about 40ish and he doesn't let up so I cross a major street into another neighborhood and put the pedal to the metal in 2nd and finally I lost his *** in that other neighborhood, but I actually had to drive to get away. This all took place in about 5 or 6 minutes.
Anybody ever been in a chase like this before?

no, i usually ditch them after 30 seconds.
the turbodiesel trucks/big-motor SUV's like to tailgate.
i like to show them the *** end of my car getting smaller and smaller.
good thing you didnt park where you live, whenever i'm being "followed" by someone who's been thoroughly defeated, or maybe someone who's just pissy, i drive through the maze that is my neighborhood and lose them. and then i park in the garage for that night.

I did one time coming home on a pretty flat long straight road (used to live out in the country ~ 20min outside of town) so Im cruising along pretty late at night around 60 mph minding my own business and a truck gets on my rear bumper, so I speed up a bit, he speeds up and gets scary close to my bumper. I again speed up and again he matches and doesnt make any attempt to pass, so then I drop it into 4th and dont let up, shift into 5th and ended up over 140. Turned onto a side street when I got over a big hill where I couldnt see his headlights and took the back way home. Scary **** - to this day I have no clue what he was thinking.

Hmm, in situations like these I usually do just the opposite. I drive progressively slower until the person gets pissed and passes. It took one person over a mile drive at 10 mph to figure out that riding my *** wasn't going to help. Of course I followed him at a safe distance for the next 5 miles, and opps looks like I left my brights on the entire time. lol

I had a freind that was followed by some kids, so he stopped in the road, got out of the car and pulled out his timing gun... they got out of there quick. Not something I would try, but it is a funny story.

My grandfather always said, don't pull a gun on someone unless your ready to shoot them, cause you never know when they might pull one back and then you have to shoot or else you die. Just something to think about, especially since with a timing gun you can't actually shoot.

I try to avoid these situations as much as possible but, sometimes it just can’t be avoided. I am just glad Texas has a concealed carry gun law that way if the situation requires I don’t have to use a timing gun to defend myself.

Well, today, I passed a big F250 or something another big *** red diesel truck.
Speed limit was 55, he was doing 55. This annoyed me... lol.
I was in the GTI btw.
I passed him, doing about 75. He catches up, gets all over my butt.
So... sunroof open, finger out as high as it goes.
Foot to floor.
Bye truck :P
