Default Forgot to release my auto-tensioner spring and started her up.........

Just got done a LOT of head work on the sledgehammer head - springs, cam, belts, etc.
Well I roll it over several times by hand (of course) lines up perfectly.
Go to start her up rrrrr-rrrrr - rrrreee- rrrreeee.................uh-oh. What did I do in my haste????? (occasionally I am hasty on my own stuff )
Walked to the front of the car - OH SHIIIIIIIT!!!!!!! tensioner is all the way to the right!!! Not good!!!
So I am thinking I just screwed up John's beautiful head (worst part would be him busting my *****). Not really the end of the world anyway because I can fix it just as fast as Perry951 or skunk
So I put in the compression tester on #1 first....30 psi....
I then start to strip it down.
I get the cam tower off and I notice that all the valve tops appear to be in a flat plane???? WTF????? (potentially good news, but NO WAY in hell)
I now get out the leakdown......
ALL 4 88-89/90-91????????? How is this possible - it jumped at least 3 teeth and ran on one startup for a second or 2.

Just thought I share a glimmer of hope - still can't believe the luck.
Keep in mind here - this cam has BIIIIIIIG lift and my intake valves are like silver dollars - some of you guys can appreciate what these 2 factors contribute to my strees...

ST, i did the same thing on my car, just i was turning it over by hand (so i guess not THAT bad!). But the belt slipped atleast 3-4 teeth before i realized i was an idiot and did not set the tension right (or tension it at all for that matter). It was pretty nerve racking trying to get the crank and cam all lined up again. I must have turned over the motor by hand 100 times to verify everything was setup correctly before i started the car.

Hope that luck is in your corner today. From the results of your leakdown on a cold engine you should be good, as you know. What was up with the 30 psi on from the compression test?

John won't even get to read about this for another 2 weeks so your "sac" should be safe for now.

Yeah the head is definitely fine.
The 30 psi cranking pressure is from cam timing being off so much.

That explains the dyno run being how many months overdue now?
