Ahh.... I like!
Looks like a Supra engine with the engine's straight up posistion, dual cam sprockets, turbo location etc...
Wait a minute, judging by the new engine mount and crossover it looks like the engine will be mounted tilted up like that??
Is the engine supposed to go into a full body car with OEM shock towers?
Please post more info about this interesting project!

I guess it won't fit a Porsche transaxle...

Cant wait to see the torque graph, would be interested to compaire with some similar 8 valve graph. The fact is that this setup should put down more hp at top end and less torque on lower rpm due to the shape/size of intake ports but its theoretical only, truly interesting..

I am very interested in this too. I could care less about the ouput of the motor actually. I just want to know how that is going to fit in the engine bay. Explanation, please.

PS – I too wonder about the ’vertical four’ engine…

I suppose the oil passages is the biggest challenge when altering the position.
Analyzing a block it doesn't look like it has any special arrangement for the stock tilted position but how about the head?
If the internal lubraction is of no concern I guess the tq tube to bellhousing bolts can be altered without too many problems.
But what's strange though is that this engine still uses the stock oil pan.

The engine will be installed in a 944 chassis, and it will be mounted vertical. Modifications were made to the oil pan & pickup tube, engine mounts, alternator & compressor bracket to accomodate the vertical position.

wow, will it have a stock hood line? or will it have to accomodate the extra height? it has to be what 6 to 8 inches taller than when in the slant position
