Mike, have not yet decided what front rotors to go with, i suppose i will go with GT2 units. Main reason for going to GT2 front & GT3 rear units is the monoblock design.
Of course there is some bling-bling issue too

When brake mania strikes, it strikes hard

Here you can compare 951 baby Brembos size to bigger ones:

from left to right:
GT2, GT3, 993, GT2, GT3 rear, GT3 front

All of these calipers will go under 944's & 951's, execept one pair of GT3 front calipers will be installed under 928 track car

So I guess that my GT2's will be those less good looking ones...? I anyway have to get the rear calipers powdercoated,so front ones will be done at the same time. But in which colour...that is the question? My car colour can be seen in my avatar.

How about the original one....?

951's use same master cylinder ( 951 355 011 01 ) with smaller ( 40/36mm ) and bigger ( 44/36mm pistons ) front calipers. GT3 caliper has also 44/36mm pistons (=25.36 square cm ).GT2 caliper has 38/32/28mm pistons (25,52 square cm ).

At rear 30/28mm pistons are used in all three vehicle's calipers.

Actually/basicaly only things that change are pad area and it's distance from the center of the hub.

PS. Big Red caliper's piston sizes are the same,44/36mm.

Pete,
I didn't realize that the piston diameters had such a small variance in size, but even with my factory mc, I'd like to have shorter pedal travel.

I stupidly assumed that you guys would address this in your upgrades.

Are the spacings for the bolts the same for the GT3 and the 928 hub or will you be modifying those?

Actually our cars are non S 951' so no 928 parts in our cars. we are using adapters. Also with 951 S you have to use adapters because spacing for the bolts are not the same, if i can remember correctly there is 12mm difference.

I was trying to ask how you made the GT3 calipers fit the 928 front.

Nope, that's completely 928's owner's problem...it's a bit tricky, but can be done.Bolt holes must be separated by rotating the caliper around the axle by some 15-20 degrees.
Our adapters for 951 knucle will be ready -hopefully- in this week.

There isn't much more pad area on a GT3 then the original "Big reds" that I am aware of. Can you verfiy?

That's correct. Benefit comes from newer Monoblock design and pads are fasten better than they used to be with Big Reds. Pads "sliding" surface is much improved. There are not stainless metals pieces which used to bend and stuck the pads. Also change of pads is easier.

Yes,you're more or less correct...here you can find Ferodo's pad information with measurements:

http://www.ferodoracing.com/auto01.asp

And here's the same for Pagid:

http://www.braketechnology.com/race.html

GT3's disc is 8mm bigger in diameter and 2mm in thickness. But as Olli mentioned, biggest difference is in caliper design.
