Barry, welcome to the 944 turbo forum. Not to be rude but do you have any experience tunning 951's? I am just curious.

I haven't dealt much with the 944s, but I have 2 928s and have done a bit of work on them. I know I'll get reamed by a few for not going with the Vitesse kit, but I'm not much of a 'kit' type of guy. I like to blaze my own trail
Thanks to all for the welcome!

Oh, and the head is currently getting a valve job and new seals. 3 valves were leaking pretty bad. Car has 99,700 miles on it.

wow three valves were leaking?
sweet more power to be made

lets see some pics!
email them to me at evil951@msn.com and I'll host them

that's going to be one gnarley powerband!
if it spools any earlier than 4500 I'm going to be impressed

is it dual ball bearing?

Blaze away Barry! Innovation is a good thing. Don't be discouraged by others. As long as there is good logic behind your mods and you are capable of thinking things through, there is no need for a "kit". Let the man put the big turbo on his car! Best of luck and keep us updated!

The man who cannot occasionally imagine events and conditions of existence that are contrary to the causal principle as he knows it will never enrich his science by the addition of a new idea.

Ah, come on Lart!! The 928s are beautiful cars, and are awesome to drive. Have you ever driven one?

And, lets not be afraid of change Just because theres no 'trusted name brand' doesn't mean it won't kick *** and surprise a lot of people. I have a 928 in hiding that I fabbed up a turbo onto. I was the first guy to do so in the way that everyone said was a bad idea, and now there are a couple guys selling kits in similar configuration. Now that idea wasn't so bad after all

Welcome and good luck with the new car. Your turbo description sounds a little off. What compressor trim is it? I'm not aware of a 60a/r hotside. I have seen a 58 in the t4's. The compressor looks like a t04e 60a/r with a 4" inlet. If it's a 70a/r it may not fit under the intake.
