After looking at his website I think the 255/35 and 285/30 is the best setup. There is still some stagger, he has adjustable suspension so if you need to dial in a little more understeer that is a non issue, and overall the car should be very balanced.

Certainly, when making big HP there is a concern with throttle on oversteer, especially with transition from brake to gas.
Thanks for all the help Matt!

Anywho, what is your ET for your wheel tire combo- i am interested in the fronts as i do think that the car is pushing a bit with just 225s. I think 245s is ideal, atleast for me, for the fronts as i will be running 305s in the future. But damn, 265s on stock front fenders?!

My last event for this year is this weekend up at Watkins Glen, with the Tracquest/CMS group. We'll be getting ready for winter projects after that...So, most likely will be available in late November/December sometime.

I'm running S03's 285/255. At the track a couple of weekends ago I found the
car well balanced.
With my little V-stg2 I was able to induce oversteer if I wanted but it wasn't
a problem as long as I transitioned from brake to gas smoothly.

Rolex,

How is the fitments on your new set of tires? Here is a link to how 295s with pirellis looks like on an 88 951S.

I have tires that are literally brand new on the car now. They don't rub at all. If you go to my web site below, you can look at my exact specs. I started this whole thread because I wanted to know the best/optimal set-up with my current rims/off -ets. And based on what Matt H said, and now Tconn too; the set-ups they said are what I'm leaning toward in the near future.

And thanks for the link too. Nice car! If you have more pics, let me know. I'd like to see the front as well. In the future if I track the car a bit, I'll look into totally custom CCWs. That in itself will enable me to run even wider tires and still maintain a nice neutral balance. But for now, I need to stick with what I just bought.

Hey let me know when you go with the CCWs as I'd like to see if you can go wider than mine without doing any mod to the rear fenders...I still think 305s are still possible on mine with the current set up. I am not too crazy with the HP numbers but i do admire what you guys have done with your motors. It's strictly a weekend car with current 350-400 crank hp so traction shouldn't be a problem. Handling wise, I'll never be able to reach its limit so even with 285s will suffice. With custom 3 piece wheels, you can play with all kinds of offsets but I do like the factory look that's why i chose the Techno II wheel as the ET is just right. Besides, they're phat! Here are some more pix, thanks to Blue 944S2 for taking the pix at the last meet in Timonium MD.
