I don't see as much traffic on the 951 board anymore. A lot of guy's that use to frequent here are no longer around. What the heck is going on? Is everyone selling out.

My theories...

1. All the basic questions have been answered over and over and are searchable
2. There are a number of other 951 forums pulling people away
3. Resentment over rule enforcement
4. Fewer professional experts around to attract others -- seems to reflect an shift in approach -- pro's used to be doing a favor to participate, but now they are run off unless they pay
5. Lower values changing owner demographics to more transitory crowd

IMHO the number the interesting threads gets fewer and fewer these days. Along with a lot of "my father is stronger than your father"-kind of discussions.

yeah, but my mom can whoop your mom's butt.

I have to agree that there is a lot less quality questions / comments being posted. One of the things I noticed is that most of the track folks have gone quite. –some have moved over to the track forum and they don’t stop by anymore.

Kind of a shame, but I suppose it is just evolution…or intelligent design….

What are the other forums? Pelican, and 951forums.com (just found that second one a few weeks ago).

I'm a 2001 member too! But July 2005 on the 951, so I don't have much to add yet, only questions.

I was slow to make the jump to the web-based forum, but was jabbering on the mail list since well into last millinium -- back in the day of Friday jokes, the Cooper Cup and epic flamewars with Tim Richards, John Anderson, Derek Khjahvi (sp?/HR), Lindsey, etc. Sigh...those were the days... Before that, in the really old days, if memory serves, each list was seeded with well-known experts (to bring in the crowds) like Bruce Anderson and Jim Pasha for example...

I was tmgee@... back then.

Ah yes, the good old days.
I was even party to the creation of the Friday funnies concept!

The flame wars were annoying yet entertaining at the same time. Interesting to see who is still in existence!

BTW – Derek now helps manage a charter air service in central America….!

I wasn't to involved with the rennlist email lists, but was on the excite and yahoo "944 World" boards started up by Bill Underwood. That was back in the day when Bill's site was one of the only 944 info sites out there!

"Gielamonster" was my old/original/still-used-on-other-forums-today screen name.
