Question Wastegate Removal

Ok Ok, my turn under the bus. All I need to do is get the 14mm WG bracket nut loose from the car to remove the WG. All suggestions, excluding the use of explosives, are welcomed.

I had a good laugh looking through the "searched" files but they mostly deal with the WG inlet and outlet bolts. I've spent the better part of the afternoon and a pile of tools later says I'm getting my *** kicked. I'm also a little concerned for passers'by of the "language of love" I've been using

TIA

Shot of PB Blaster, universal jointed 14mm socket and long 3/8" extension should do it

Tried that set-up routed to the outside of the stock wastegate, no-go. Maybe the jack stand, under the castor block, is f'ing my geometry. BTW, PO used copper braid rienforced line to the WG and it just crumbles in my hand! Might explain my motor's lack of determination.

Did you read the guide on Lindsey Racing's site about replacing the WG? They have a little section that talks about this.

You're talking about the one that holds the WG to the torque tube right? If so, have fun. I literally spent two entire days getting that infernal bracket on and lined up again properly after removing it. . .

You need about 600 wobbles and quadruple-jointed fingers to make that job any easier. The day I finally ditch that whole mess and get a Tial (which doesn't use that ^%(&$(&#!!! bracket) I'm going down to the pier down at Belmont and shot-putting the old WG (and bracket) into the Pacific.

Score: WG-7, superior intellect-zip, nada, nothing.

OK, Every DIY Porsche owner knows at any given point in the project it's time to step back, grab a delicious beverage and a high sodium munchie sure to top out your hyper tension levels. Check-done. To date, the swivel socket's working angle is too limited for this application.

I would much rather be pulling nose hairs than a WG.

Now I reflect back to Danno's words of wisdom "Be at one with the universe and you shall find your answers", I immediately amplify that with Chevy Chase in Caddyshack's "See your future-be your future....." and right now I see my future handing me my *** again. Note, it's important to keep a postitve outlook during these difficult times.

Lindsey's pics don't tell the whole story, "just use the 96" extension to loosen, rotate, and remove from the car-ish", I'm sure having the car at shoulder heighth works much better. So I go to my happy place where my nice, pretty, shiny, Tial is installed--to be bombarded with road debris, PS fluid, motor oil, shopping carts (ok, a little over the top) but She's lock'n down boost and thats what it's all about!

I had to boorow Rick's compressor and air wrench. We couldn't get with hand tools. It took an air wrench with the pressure turned up and it still took a while to break the torque. Needless to say, my WG is not connected to it now.

there seems to be a shift in the scoring........"moderate intellect" scores, and the WG.........looses- with multiple cool point penalties.....

Jeff, I can see how shot-putting this would bring years of satisfaction. Let's say we do this one at the oil pan GTG!

I had hoped the Tial would go in before the car came off the jacks tonight but the sun is getting close to the Pacific and the glare under the car is impossible. I'll post pics after a shower.

A couple more reasons my boost has been unimpressive, the exhaust gasket is just over a year old.

I don't think the top picture is that big of a deal (Unless it's cracked through). The hose is different matter though.
