Default Race Video for action-starved 951 geeks

More gratuitious 944T race footage. The second car is a 968-engined 944S2.

Want to see some close 944SuperCup action, like FIVE lead changes in a race?? This video is a composite of footage shot from Matts car [P2] and mine [P1 - the white 951 with 944Cup on the dashboard], so the perspective chages with every lead change. It was, as Matt says, an awseome race.
This is the full Saturday VIR race, so its a big chunky 60Mb download, but that why we have broadband, right?
Its worth the wait!

DIY at my place, for everything except alignment. A local buddy has a set of Longacre scales, so balancing is DIY now too. Rebuilt the engine over the winter. I've just about rebuilt all of the instrumentation/cabin setup to suit what I wanted. There was nothing wrong with the original setup, its just that I figured it could be better for me. Really happy with the outcome of that work.

The car was very nicely built long before I got it. It had been prepared by Eric Steinel in Ohio, who is a god on these cars. I've done quite a bit since then, but its great to be working with a solid base, and that came from Eric and others.

This is my first Porsche FEWC. I sold my 911 to get into this car. Some thought I'd lost it! Have to say that this car has been superb since I started racing it at the start of last season. Its taught me heaps already, and I'm still not getting everythign out of it.

Eniac: The E30s are a great car! As good a bang for the buck as a 944NA, although slightly slower on average. Great guys to run with, even though we tend to chew through the back of their field for the last half of the race. The blue BMW that passed just before the checker was a GTS3 class M3 lightweight.

Testa: The boards work fine. No way my car would go over that lift without some extra clearance. [and I STILL want your engine line drawing T shirt design.]

I've had 4 of them and loved every single one.

2 E30 318i's
2 E30 325ix's

I almost turbocharged one of my 325ix's but with it having 267,000 mi. on it I thought I should just stick to the 951 instead.

That is a fan-damn-tastic track! A group from our Potomac PCA region do an annual trip north to run the Glen, Mt.Tremblant and Mosport. They all say Mosport is their favorite track, and it looks perfect for the 951.

Great race footage Van. You need to spill it about your car.

Mike, check Van's video a few posts up from this. You've jsut been to Mosport, so it should look familiar.
