lol...umm yeah there is. Its called sea level and driver mod. I could of turned a high 13 in my car bone stock if I had better tires. These cars in there last years where turning 13.5's without dr's....back then.
A chips+boost 951 running 15psi would be all over a low 13 pretty easily with a good driver.
Give me a link to that thread and I will try and educate them. Unfortunately I just to my car to the track stock to see what it will do...I wont be going back until I feel like I got something to rep(i.e. bigger turbo)
I did a best of 14.0 @99mph everything stock on the car down to the paper filter with a 2.0 60.
anyways todd link me to the thread...I can post up what slips I do have and videos .....along with my posts they will believe trust me.

Had I put my tial wastegate in last year, and launched harder I could've been low 13's with a lightly modded 951 (chips + boost). I ran a 13.9 @ 102 with a 2.2 60' with bleeding boost to 9psi from 15 and an open diff!

Ok folks. Lets see timeslips for the chip+boosted 951's running consistent low 13's.
Tial wastegates and mods beyond chip and boost just don't count.
I would be happy to be corrected on this one. People forget what a difference having to throw 4th does to your times...

I disagree, I believe that the Tial wastegate is one of the quickest and easiest mods for your 944. It's a MUST. Certainly not something that I would consider more than "lightly modded". I'd go prove you wrong, but I no longer an anywhere near stock weight, and I dont have a stock engine.

Hey John!!! thanks buddy.
It is an Orlando Forums site. Pretty cool guys with all kinds of different cars, imports to muscle. Although I am one of few Porsche owners and only 951 owner on it. So most of them are just not familiar with our car and it's potential.

I would aggre that WG is not really a "mod" but more of a replacement part for an old worn out WG.
However, I know the stock 951S got like 14 flat bone stock, i.e. 250hp. Chips and 1 bar alone will get you 285+ and smidge over 300tq. And John's bone stock run is certainly proof of that as well.
Actually, it wasn't so much the times they were questioning, but the traps. I was trying to tell them that they seem out of wack from what they are used to seeing since our cars are so bad from the launch.

Not to split hairs but a Tial dual port wastegate is a substantial improvement over the stock wastegate. Using the same train of logic, my vitesse turbo is not really a "mod" but more of a replacement part for an old worn out turbo.
But that brings up an important point. What's the definition of lightly modded?

I've grenaded several cv's as well as 3 stub axle's. Most of the trick on street tires is slipping the clutch to get a smooth non jerky launch while building the boost at the same time. I found just a little bit of wheelspin was good for getting the boost up too. On regular radials lowering the pressure down around 23 or so works too depending on the tire. Problem with going too low is that under load the center of the tire will "cup" and not make contact.
