I'll probably go with the KEP PP and a Cup disc or 930 disc.

David , Is your clutch pedal much heavier than stock? My concern being durability of the linkages and hydraulics .

Is there a measurable increase in performance with a lightened flywheel?
Is the car harder to drive with the lightened flywheel?

How reasonable is it to try and change the clutch myself with no lift and jack stands?

Thanks

That's a good choice. It will be good with that pressure plate.

David uses a copper - he was the one who told me to try the copper - and I am glad I did!!

Change your master, slave and the line between if they are original, or they will fail soon after the KEP installation - like mine did.

The car revs much quicker with the Fidanza, and is only very slightly more difficult to get going - almost unnoticeable. Definitely a good mod.

You can do the clutch with jackstands - all it takes is time.

While David has a light flywheel, he also had the whole motor redone. Reduced and shaved crank, overbore & different pistons and connecting rods, balance shafts delete, and who knows what else. It is a different motor than you or I have.

So his experience is pretty much off the chart.

You can change the clutch yourself - it is a lot of work. If you are going to do it make sure you have some heavy jackstands so you can get the car high up in the air. If you are going the rear way, you need it high to get the transaxle dropped and out of the way. Having a helper is also a great idea. Trying to get the torque tube slid back or moved forward is a nightmare if you don't have another guy on the other end.

Might be a good idea to ship your clutch fork off to Markus too. He rebuilds and strengthens them, as well as installing custom sintered bearings to get rid of the needle bearings. Total cost is about $170USD. A small price to pay for me with the KEP Stg2 to get peace of mind A new OEM fork is about $200USD I think?

Hes also a standup guy to deal with. UPS lost the first fork he shipped me, another one is already on the way.

Clutch pedal is only slightly heavier.

Car is not harder to drive with lightened flywheel, IMHO

I have changed mine several times (alone) with just jacks and ramps. I might be willing to give you a hand if needed, I have a tranny jack, which comes in handy

David
Thanks for the offer. It will probably be awhile before I gather all the parts
plus all the "while I'm in there" parts.
I had planed on upgrading the clutch this winter, maybe it will last.

Do you just back it on to the ramps? or did you jack each side and place ramps under?

I use the ramps up front, the rear needs to be higher ( so the tranny jack can roll out )

I do jack up each side to place the ramps and stands.
