Question SERVICING A/C

i see some engine compartment pics and some folks have both charging ports over the left fender well, i only have one.

is this a mod that was done for better/easier access or did some cars come with both?

First I have heard of that.

Cetainly would have been much better if they put the LOW pressure side on top and the HIGH pressure side under the car

'86 was the only 944 turbo with both ports on top. '87 on where split. One port at compressor one at fender. IIRC

My '86 turbo and '87 NA have both service valves on the shock tower as well as a low side service fitting at the rear of the compressor.

Charging connector on my 89 is under the car accessible by turning wheel full left to get between the left front tire and the fender on the bottom of the car.
