Oddly enough, none of those have had LS engines.

Definitely. Some of you guys are making way higher numbers with the 951 motor than a N/A V8 ever will. Especially if you don't want the V8 to idle like a paint mixer

Is that a 951 and not a 928? If so the most impressive thing to my eye is the retrofitted double wishbone suspension. Or is that what you were referring to Special Tool?

I'd say everything in there is amazing Scott. Notice the steel sheet under the tranny that actually leads up into a rear diffuser. If you go to some of those links you can see the car from the rear. The whole workmanship is a triumph.

What would a car like that really cost to build properly? I have really been back and forth with my car so much in the past couple of years at this point its either sell it or dump a ton of money into it. After searching through threads it looks like the motor/turbo combo I want im looking at 10k. Can a ls1/ls2 be had for that? If so i'd gladly do the swap. I just ship the car there and let them do it start to finish.

Im willing to bet 10k is just scratching the surface on cost though. Still it'd be nice to know and look at possible sourcing options. I could supply the parts pretty cheeply I think. I'd just want someone to install it and tune it/make sure its running properly before I beat the **** outta it.

sigh I think im loosing my mind. Either way 08' will have me selling it/building a 3.0ltr or dropping a lsx powerplant in it. Decisions decisions

...and there's 3.0L's and then there's 3.0L's! Don't bank on $10k to do that properly either.
That car seems to sit higher though. Almost looks like a Camaro or something from yesteryear with the box LeMans rear.

Unfortunately 10k is being quite modest. Between install and other requirements im really looking into the 12-13k range and for what 450hp?

I find myself with new vigor as of late and if a lsx drop could be had for around the same money why not? Unfortunately I don't think the car could be built for that even with supplied parts. Still im curious to know hence the post..

I am still bent on creating something special using mostly Porsche parts, however with all the headaches we've had so far I can see the benefits of a V8 in terms of reliability and repair/service costs. It would be nice to have a car that is on the road for the whole year. lol
