Solo - no problem - it is IMPOSSIBLE to flame me. I have 3109 revs 1 bar on the datalogger - you can't fool the computer.

My 472 mustang dyno run was at 24 psi. 33-40% xylene and pump fuel only.

My signature says 1 bar@3100 just to show the spoolup characteristics of a properly tuned stage 3. This proper tuning will be about 2 hours work when the mechanical aspects of the installation have been completed.

The single most important part of 951 tuning is to make sure you have no exhaust leaks. We are already at a disadvantage because of the long distance and subsequent energy loss - if you compound this with further losses, you are in trouble.

So, if I connect my catch can to the J-boot (completing the original vacuum circuit) I guess I don't need to open up the hole in the oil mist seperator, right?

That is the way I understand it to be. I will be doing this right away.

..........well ......vitesse stage 2, a worked over head, tial, 3" testpipe and exhaust, Koni's all around, car is lowered a couple inches, eibach 250 lb fronts........etc,etc,etc.... There is such a huge difference running 13, 15, 18, and 20+ psi with John's turbos........ BIG difference. I am a total believer in special tools numbers. I was running some 20 psi spurts and it really is incredible how much air these turbos want to flow.

I had been lazy filling up the car with good old petro canada 91 winter gas and I paid for it the first time running a little too much boost..........and some of my MAD tuning SKILZ........... LOL

Unfortunately my camber is pretty much stock. I have some camber plates I am throwing in for the front and I will have the back changed to -2 ......

Overall the car feels very good........I am just having trouble getting used to the throttle. I find 3/4 throttle is where I want to be......... at full throttle the back end just wants to come loose. THe power drifts look great........but not the best way to shave time off your runs.

special tool,
i was looking at your dyno chart and your signature and things just don't add up and it was kinda of bugging me so i just want to bring it up to see why.

I always though that horsepower and tq can't cross until the higher rpms like around 5500 but on your dyno chart it shows them crossing twice at 3000rpms and at 5500rpms. Also i see that you are making 1 bar of boost by 3100rpms but you are making under a 100rwhp at that time? I am sorry for bringing this up but it just kinda of confuses me and i just wanted to see if it was just a mistake or you intended it for that. Here is a pic of a spreadsheet i work up to calcuate tq to horsepower

daniel951, Where did you see the HP/TQ cross at 5500. The dyno chart is on the "top 10 HP/TQ" thread and they do cross at 5250 (middle of 5000 and 5500 area). Please explain.

AST (again not following my instructions on how to do a dyno run!!) starts his pull in the upper 2000 RPM so of course he's not spooling the turbo till later... Does this make sense?

While on this subject. I just received a call from a shop that installed a Stage 2 kit, they made over 400rwhp on 1.3bar boost. Hopefully he'll send me the dyno so I can post it.

ya that is what i meant about the 5250rpms. sorry about that. Ya i undestand how you mean when he has low torque at 3000rpms because of how he did the dyno run but i am confused on why they cross at 3krpms.

Daniel - that is normal. Any dyno chart that does NOT cross at 5250 (with equal left and right values) is extremely suspect.

I am sure that the HP and TRQ will cross again at a similar LOW RPM as well on monday on the way to over 500 RWHP on the dynojet.

-not knocking on any wood......

I think the HP/TQ coincide at 3000rpm as that's when the operator started the load and recording. ST should verify this with the dyno operator.

Actually - that is exactly right, because he missed starting the run a couple times, and it was at this point.

Some dyno charts will have two scales. One for the HP and another for the TQ. If you see a dyno chart where the lines do not cross at 5252 rpms, look at the scales on the sides of the chart. Most likely they are offset.

Just a quick question for you guys. I bought the Moroso catch can cap that David Floyd has and I'm going to order a hose to run from it to the j-pipe but I don't know what the internal diameter of the hose should be. Is it 1"? 3/4"? Anyone know?
