OT: stay away from 06 Cobra
WOW, maybe even at the track: "apparently pulling over 1.0g in the corners"
2006 Mustang Cobra
465HP, 6-speed manual running in the low 12's with a trap speed of 120mph! You choose the rear suspension set up, either IRS or Solid Rear Axle with the IRS apparently pulling over 1.0g in the corners. 5.4 Supercharged, 3 valve heads (with HUGE valves), forged internals similar to the 4.6 (Crank, rods, etc), modestly rated (under rated actually) ~465 HP/495 lb ft Torque, using a twin screw S/C similar to that on the Ford GT but pullied differently, hence the lower HP.

As I recall it will definitely be on the heavy side, maybe 3700-3800 lbs. The last Cobras ('03-'04) were around 3700 lbs and the new Mustang chassis is no lightweight.

It will be solid axle only (NO IRS), although a very well designed solid axle design, and it will probably weigh close to 3900 lbs. Even with the solid axle it could very well pull over 1g without too much difficulty (heck, there were 93+ Camaro/Firebirds that could pull 1g from the factory). It'll be a nice car, but just way to heavy for my taste. My Firehawk is about the heaviest I can stand (it's about 3400-3500lbs), anything more than that and the car is just too massive to feel comfortable throught he twisties.

hmm... his mom huh? sweet.
I figured 3700 was more realistic since it's a specially tuned car -- wouldn't they attempt to remove some unnecessaryweight? how about starting with the blue badge?

I like the look of the new Mustangs, or should I say I like the look of the 1967 Mustang they copied. But the new one is HUGE...stand next one. It's a boat, nay, a ship....an oil tanker at that. And I am just not a big car guy.
Also, whats up with a 5.4L motor with a twin screw SCer only making 465hp/495torque? Our lil peanut 2.5s can go nearly as high with stock internals with a different turbo and MAF. So, I think American cars, with the exception of the newer Vettes, are junk. But that is my $.02

old setup was 390 stock...yet people all the time dynoing 360ish stock at the wheels.
If you think you shoudlnt fear a new 06 cobra...your not very smart. Imagine that car with a few bolt ons...making 500rwhp....even with the weight you would still need 400rwhp to run even with it.
