Did you retain A/C with the rx-7 setup?
I am most interested, just haven't had the time to read the threads yet. I think that is what I will do on my 951 eventually.

yes you can still retain the a/c.those pictures are quite old,(still had a/c back then,as you can still see the condesor)but i just recently took off all the a/c components.i got my rx7 for dirt cheap from a local guy($20),then i needed to order some AN fittings for the oil cooler(mazdatrix.com),then i needed some AN fittings for the oil cooler housing(batinc.com)then run you SS braided lines and mount in the front of radiator.ill probably move the oil cooler more back since theres more room now.hope this helps

I run an 89 Turbo E stock car in PCA club racing, its also a daily driver. I fitted the supplemental cooler from Terry Morris trymorris@***.net. It fits behind the drivers side fog light, and connects to the existing oil coller pipes. To add additional cooling holes are drilled into the foglight cavity. During the racing season I run with the fog light out. For winter I put the foglight in. Its a simple install and doesn't require any cutting. I removed one of the horns to get more space. I ran Texas motor speedway which is flatout on the banking, at over 100degrees with no problems. It may not be the best setup, but its cost effective, and works, I would have no hesitation recomending it.

Love this setup. I will definitely copy this for my track car.
Regards.

Do you guys that are covering the front of the radiator with a large oil cooler, notice the coolant temps higher than before?

Looks like a great setup for oil cooling, but could noticeably reduce the efficiency of the radiator(?).

Looking good David,
do you use it in line with the stock one or did you remove it?

No, the stock oil thermostat, which is in the oil filter housing is still used.

Track temps are good and our extra temp sensor is in the turbo drain, so that's warm. On cooler track days, we average around 250F, warmer summer days we average around 260-275.
Isnt that still a bit too hot? IIRC, thats about the temp that the single stock cooler keeps things at, maybe a bit less.

With the oil cooler out there, does it effect the A/C's cooling ability?
Just want to be sure that there are no hidden downsides before I start sourcing parts
