Default GT35R - Turbo time.

Who is running one?

In what specs?

Does it fit under the stock intake?

What did you do with the exhaust work?

Are you speaking of stock Garrett GT Series ?
If so nope, it will not fit unless you cut down
the engine mount alot. Edman 951 got away easy
cost his GT30R is not standard factory item.
Standard factory range are all base on .70AR
TO4S housing like the so call GT25 that I'm using.
You can have the Cold side change a TO4E type
which will make installation much easier .
Check out www.atpturbo.com. Like I mentioned
to you, they seem to have GT Hot housing that
fit the KKK flanges. By taking this route, you'll
save lots of time & pain not to mention lots of
cash. You do not have to go 3 inch at the first
section of the down pipe. Go 3 inch at the second
section & all the way back.

This is the exact route I've decided to take. I ordered a GT30R w/KKK housing from ATP a week or so ago, its on backorder for another week. Once I get my install on the way, I'll make a little walkthrough or something about my experience.

Dave-

Do you know if the ATP GT30R with the KKK bolt pattern is an actual KKK replica housing or a Garrett housing machined to mate up with the KKK bolt pattern?

Also, what specs did you get? What engine management will you use?

I'm an ATP Turbo reseller. I haven't seen those turbos first hand yet but they are not KKK replica's, just KKK-flanged turbine housings.
So you still have to deal with the GTBB oil/water fittings and mountings.

If the flanges are the same dimensions, the
rest of the work will be chicken feet when
compared to what I when through with my
install.

Guys, double check before you order. Even though the turbine housing has the KKK bolt pattern, it does not bolt up to the factory X-over. Exhaust modifications are needed!

I have a GT35R and a GT3071R and they both fit on my work bench perfectly.

One day I will try and fit them and the highly modified exhaust to the 16v engines they are destined for…!

I'm not 100% sure if its a actual replica housing or a Garrett housing machined to mate up. I'll find out when I get it.

I got a .63 Turbine A/R version in a KKK housing. I plan on using a Link Plus engine management system.

J Chen,
2.75' - 3' Inlet
Just in case anyone was curious, here is the compressor map.
GT30R .60 A/R Compressor Map

However, I was thinking about changing over to a GT3071R w/4in inlet although its the KKK housing thats causing the back order so either way I'll have to wait.

Duke, do you have a price you can PM me on the GT30R with KKK flange?

Sandy, do you have a link to the turbo you bought? Are you expecting to NOT cut dowm the mount to get it to fit? What are you doing about the oil fitting? Why a GT30 and not GT35R?

I have sold my turbo so I need to get this sorted!

I have run both! Last year I have the GT3071 (HKS A/R 0.61 hotside) and now I have the GT30R (HKS A/R 0.73 hotside). GT3071 is the best choise up to 400-450 hp with a great powerband. If you will go beyond that I would choose the GT30R with less powerband but moore hp at the end.
