Chen, get a map, look for Antartica, then look for NZ Hint, its real close!
So is is Chris saying that with the alternator and metal nipplie on the intake resolved (I have deleted it long ago) the full GT35R fits with the stock intake?

NZ which one? 71 or 76mm. I would probably go with a GT35R, it's possible to make 500hp and still be close to the sweet spot as far as efficiency goes.

Hi Chris,
I like to keep everything like the factory did. When you add the spacer,
you would no longer be able to use the outer manifold support bracket.
You would also need to mod the fuel rail mounting brackets etc. For
you it's not a problem if you're not using stock stuff. Aside for cutting
down the engine mounts & the method of mounting the turbo, everything
else looks factory in my install. Water feed, oil feed etc. Oh not to forget
a different & smaller in size alternator which again looks factory.

I have a friend with a '04 Mitsu Evo (2.0 16V), and he's running a GT35R with .63ar.
He gets full boost by 4200rpm, so you can't say that it will be too laggy for a 951.
I've had several 951's, and if I'm racing, I'm not gonna floor it at anything less than 4000rpm, even with a stock turbo.......
When you upshift at redline, your rpm in the next gear will be at 4500+rpm anyway.
If you want boost at a lower rpm, and have to do those 5th gear from 80mph runs, then a GT30R with a .63ar will make it happen.
I suggested the Garrett GT 30R, 35R, and 40R BB Turbos to John last year, (correct me if I'm wrong, John) but he said his thrust-bearing Turbos made more power.

My dyno at 355 rwhp is floating around here. I posted it a few months back. The reason for the turbo only putting out 355 rwhp is because the maf meter maxed out at 15psi with 55lb injectors. The dyno I posted was run at 17psi. You can see clearly that the maf meter maxes out right after peak torque and than regains itself in the higher rpms. I belive the turbo is good for 380 at 18psi with the 72lb injectors. Peak torque was at 4200 rpm. 1 bar by 3300 rpms. The torque is right up there with the hp so that means it's a great match for the motor.

Assuming a relatively linear efficiency you will get an increase of 11.3hp for each lb of additional pressure…so I don’t think you are going to find 25hp gain going to 18psi. What you will find is that the gt35 will remain linear to a much higher pressure.

Chris – it looks like the intake is ¼” off the head in the last picture….
Makes me wonder about making an intake spacer to raise up the manifold – then you could fit just about anything you want!

That's right. There is a surprising amount of room. I truely did not believe that it was going to fit without hitting the hood but as I found out there is more room there. Someone said something about a GT40!!
