I know MANY guys using the GT35R here on 2.0's. So I am guessing a 2.5 will be fine, and the C-map looks ok. I will be using the .63 AR housing. Coreleone has it with a .73 housing and his car whoops ***, mind you the turbo is not the only mod .

NZ951, don't assume that if it works on a 2.0L engine with a very efficient head, it will work on the 951. Also keep in mind that the 951 engine is not a high revving engine, you want to come on boost soon to make torque early in the RPM t=range so you have a big area under the power curve. I'm sure you are addressing all of the issues, just wanted to mention it..

Fast, the 2.0's using it include 20 year old nissan single cams (drag car), right up to new EVO's, and is regarded by all of them as the holy grail of turbo's for 4 cyl, and that the lag halves with the BB option. It will be interesting to see how it goes with the .63 AR! I will be sure to keep everyone informed of progress...

I have a freind using a GT35R on an MR2 (2.0) he had the turbo sent to a guy in canada, who makes the compressor and such entirely from ceramic. Nice little option, quick spool, but spendy.

What else have those 2.0L cars had done to them? I see you put that one was a drag car. A turbo for a drag car or a race car will make a horrible street turbo. For example, the person that designed my engine was running it with a T-76 Qtrim, and was making stupid amounts of power with it, but only in the rpm range that the engine was seeing while racing. I purchased the turbo as a package with the engine, but am having a different turbo made that will match what I plan on using the engine for. I could put a smaller trim turbine on (.73) but it will not be an optimal setup with the compressor.

That particular car (which is just one small example and not why I am chosing the GT35R) is stock internally. And runs 2 bar all day long in high efficiency.

Not mismatching parts is why I want to run the GT35R as it comes, ie not with the TO4E cover just becuase it fits under the intake manifold. I have a guy who has designed and built 100's of turbos and has a mechanical and electrical engineering degree suggest this turbo, which is more evidence that its good! Time will tell

The problem of installing an small compressor housing on the GT35R or any other turbo is that the compressor Map will change and is no longer valid for the compressor. How much the efficiency is affected?

Exactly TC, thats why I want to keep the turbo the same map, its a known quantity and you can plan around it...

J Chen:
The compressor wheel inducer is 2.45 in. and the exducer is 3.22 in. Compressor housing inlet is 4 in. (the alternator is in the way!) and outlet is 2.5 in. It comes only in one trim, .54

Turbine AR's available are 1.06, .82 and .63

Turbo Cab,
I know the specs of the GT turbos. I just wanted to
know if we're talking about the exact same turbo.

I have installed a few of these turbo's on 951's. The compressor clearence problem is easily solved by spacing the intake up slightly. I had some billet spacers made, they are about 15mm IIRC. I installed studs in the head and used OE gaskets on either side of the spacer. Done. The only other issue for street cars was the ported vac. connection at the bottom of the throttle body. I removed the steel nipple and hammered and staked a aluminum plug in the hole. I moved the connection to the IC discharge pipe. I will find a pic and post it.

Hi Chris,
I wanted to do that during my install but decided against it.
